An avalanche of good

Flint businessman and philanthropist Phil Shaltz wanted to raise awareness and make everyone stop a little bit and think. So, he put up a billboard on I-69 with a cryptic message, "I'm Concerned About the Blueberries." And, it went viral — mostly because no one knew what it meant. All over the world (literally) people wondered who exactly was concerned about little fruit and why.

Then, Phil came forward with a story that ultimately urges all of us to care for each other a little more and to do something good — anything really, maybe even something as small as a blueberry — for each other.

Flint, MI - Friday, May 4, 2018: Blueberry Founder, Phil Shaltz, 69, from Fenton Twp., smiles for the camera as he is interviewed by local media before the 5th Annual Blueberry Ambassador Award Party at the Riverfront Banquet Center.

a little something,
causing an avalanche of good.”
