Blueberry Moment 1: My church was looking for people to help buy Christmas gifts for those in need. I took pop cans back to the store with my mom and my sister. I used the money to buy a woman some gifts. We had enough money to buy her two sweaters, pants, socks, a book, and some perfume. It made me feel good to know that she would have something special for Christmas.
Blueberry Moment 2: I love to read, so I went through my bookshelf at home and picked out a bunch of books. I donated them to the Woman’s Shelter because I thought that the kids there may enjoy reading them. I know that reading takes my mind off of hard times, so I was happy to help other kids be able to try that too. It made me feel like a great giver.
Blueberry Moment 3: Since the Blueberries have started, I have been very proud of what I do to help others. I even inspired my family! We started a Christmas Kindness Countdown. Every morning we open an envelope that holds a card that tells us what act of kindness we will do that day. We started this on December 1st. So far, we have done things like letting others cut in front of us in line, saying hello and smiling to someone we didn’t know, and giving a flower to our teachers. It’s fun to open the envelop eeach morning to see what is inside. This makes me feel cheerful. Even if I feel down, showing kindness to others can cheer me up.
Blueberry Moment 1: I was going to Meijer and I had a $20 gift card. I also had a $15 dollar gift card. My brother did not have a gift card. So I gave him my $15 gift card.
Blueberry Moment 2: We were at the school. The Blueberry Ambassadors were responsible for hosting a food give-away from the Food Bank. We were giving away food like squash, cabbage, onions, potato, and apples. I had to help people if they wanted help. I would carry their items to their car.
Blueberry Moment 3: I was eating dinner then I finished. I thought it would be kind to rake leaves for my dad. So I got gloves on and I went outside. I raked leaves until I had to go in because it was dark.
Blueberry Moment 1: I helped my Aunt Sid. She had surgery and couldn’t walk or bend over. I wanted to mow the lawn so she wouldn’t get hurt. When I helped her with her lawn work she was so happy. It made me happy to be a help.
Blueberry Moment 2: My nana and papa live on a private road with 11 houses. It was garbage day and I wanted to help. I went to every house to take the empty trash cans back to the garages. I was glad to do it without being asked.
Blueberry Moment 3: We were at JCPenney’s waiting for our dad to pick us up. I wanted to help open the door for strangers. I held the door for six older ladies. They said I was so nice for helping them. I smiled and told them thank you so much.
We had a food give away with all the Kearsley Schools Blueberry Ambassadors. The food was provided by the Food Bank and we gave the food away to the community. All three of my Blueberry Moments happened at the food give away.
Blueberry Moment 1: For my first Blueberry Moment I showed someone what to do to sign in as they entered at the food give-away. The Food Bank had specific papers that needed to be filled out.
Blueberry Moment 2: The next Blueberry Moment was when I helped my teacher find fruits and vegetables at the food give away.
Blueberry Moment 3: The last Blueberry Moment is when I helped someone carry two carts of fruits and vegetables and also I helped her load her car with two carts of fruits and vegetables. That is how I spread kindness.
Blueberry Moment 1: 12-1: I saw that Mrs. Houser was back at school so I walked up to her and said, “Welcome back!” I gave her a hug. I felt like she needed the hug.
Blueberry Moment 2: 12-2: I was at horseback riding and my coach always smiles at me. I said, “I really like your smile because you smile at me every day I come here and that makes my day.” It felt great to give her this compliment.
Blueberry Moment 3: 12-7: It was morning in school and I said to Bree, “Thank you for putting my stuff in my backpack when I was at the food give away. It was very kind of you to do that for me.” It felt good to recognize her for her kindness.

Blueberry Moment 1: For one of my Blueberry Moments, I got boxes and went to the store to buy toys and put them in the box to donate them to homeless children. I will be donating the boxes at the end of December with Blueberry Card 4346. It makes me feel good to be bringing them toys and they are trying to play with them for the first time.
Blueberry Moment 2: For one of my Blueberry Moments I went to my neighbor’s house and picked up all the trash. I did this on November 30, 2015. I decided to do it because our neighbors are super nice. For example, one time my dad needed a wheelbarrow, but did not have one so we asked the neighbors and they did not have one either but they went to the store to buy one. This made me happy because they always help us. Blueberry Card 4347.
Blueberry Moment 3: For one of my Blueberry Moments I stayed after school and helped people get food into their car. It made me feel good when they smiled or said thank you.
Blueberry Moment 1: On November 12, 2015, I helped this woman named Amy. She was 73 and she was not doing well crossing the road. She had dropped all of her things in the middle of the road. I went out in the middle of the road to help her get her things back in her bag. Everybody started honking at her. I helped her cross the road and she tried to give me some money. I said, “No” and I gave her a Blueberry Card.
Blueberry Moment 2: Every Blueberry Ambassador helped Mrs. Eggleston with the Food Give Away at Fiedler. I helped with carrying the food to the cars. I helped them get their food from the Food Bank for people who wanted free food.
Blueberry Moment 3: I was playing out at recess and this girl fell and hurt her ankle so I helped her go to the office. She had hurt her ankle really bad. She went to the doctor and the next day she came in with a cast.

Blueberry Moment 1: On December 6, I was at the hardware store when a package of light bulbs fell, breaking one. Shocked I immediately went to find a broom. After finding one I swept it up making sure that everyone was safe. Eventually someone came after I swept it to the side.
Blueberry Moment 3: My last event was that I made little acorns for Thanksgiving. The reason I made them was so that everybody could have a fun treat during the holidays. I brought them to my neighbors. I also gave them to my relatives. I hoped to make them happier with those acorns.
Blueberry Moment 1: My classroom was making projects for Christmas and everyone had to turn in $3 for materials. I gave my teacher $4 because I wanted to help her pay. I gave her the extra dollar on 11/25/15. I did this because I realized how much money it would cost. I was happy that I gave her an extra dollar.
Blueberry Moment 2: I left pennies at the mechanical horse at Meijer for the kids who wanted to ride it. I did this on 11/30/15. I decided to do this because when I was little, I always wanted to ride it and I thought about the kids. I felt happy that I did this. Blueberry Card 6300.
Blueberry Moment 3: My friend wanted to buy a bag of popcorn but she could not because she didn’t have money. I already bought a bag of popcorn so I gave it to her. I did this on 12/4/15. Blueberry Moment 1: My family and I made dinner for my mom’s friend. Her son was in a car accident and died. Sometimes she has a hard time getting out of bed so dinner is the last thing on her mind. We did this act of kindness on Thursday the 12th of November. We decided to do this act because she is our friend and friends help friends in need. This made me feel generous and helpful because she was sad and we helped cheer her up. We did not give a Blueberry Card away because she had too much to think about, and was in no position to do acts of kindness.
Blueberry Moment 2: My mom and I made quilts for cancer children at Hurley hospital. We went shopping and picked out the material for the quilts. We finished them and brought them to the hospital on Saturday the 5th of December. This made me feel helpful and proud for helping at a hospital. Blueberry Cards 4312 and 4314. We gave two away because we made two quilts.
Blueberry Moment 1: One of my Blueberry Moments is when I sponsored a foster kid that was my age and bought him Christmas gifts. I did this on 11-29-15 which was a Sunday. We went to Walmart and spent $60. I bought a snowboard, Nerf gun, a Nerf football, and a basketball. These were all things the foster kid wanted. I decided to do this random act of kindness because there are many kids that are misfortunate and do not have a Christmas. This made me feel good to help someone who is in need.
Blueberry Moment 2: One of my Blueberry Moments is when I helped a lady carry a pack of onions and potatoes to her car. I did this random act of kindness on 11-19-15 at the food give away at Fielder Elementary. This lady walked through the doors and headed straight to the onions and potatoes. I raced over to her and asked, “Do you need help?” She answered back, “Yes, please.” I decided to do this act of kindness because I wanted to show people that the Kearsley community is full of good kids. This made me feel great to help someone I don’t know.
Blueberry Moment 3: One of my Blueberry Moments is when my grandma and I took 10 sausage muffins and 10 hash browns in for breakfast. I took them to the morning coffee group at Kearsley Daily Villa. I did random act of kindness on 12-5-15 which was a Saturday. I did this around 9:00a.m. I did this because these people are pretty much my friends and I wanted them to be happy for the day. This made me feel awesome and great to visit some friends and make them happier than they usually are.
Thursday, November, 19, I helped with the food give away at my school. All the Blueberry Ambassadors worked at my school. I helped people by helping them carry heavy bags of fruits and veggies into their cars. I did this because I knew it would help a lot of people in the community. I felt very kind because of all those people who could feed their families for thanksgiving.

I decided to do this because families are in need of good Thanksgiving food. It made me feel happy that families got Thanksgiving food.
Blueberry Moment 3: On December 4, 2015 I helped with popcorn sales. I counted popcorn money from classes and delivered popcorn to classes. Fiedler Elementary School raised over $200 just in popcorn money!!! I decided to help with popcorn sales because I helped save PTO time making, bagging and delivering popcorn. This made me feel joyful to help raise so much money and help the PTO.
Blueberry Moment 2: On December 4, 2015, I did popcorn sales with my friends. We raised over $200 in popcorn money. It was AWESOME because we raised money for Kearsley Christmas Charity. When my friend Emily and I divided the money from the classrooms, our faces were just lit up. We were so happy for the whole school! Last, when Emily and I delivered the popcorn all the kids faces lit up with joy, it made my heart beat so fast which made my face turn red.
Blueberry Moment 2: On November 19, 2015, I participated in a food giveaway for Thanksgiving. We gave away food like potatoes, squash, apples, and cabbage. Blueberry Moment 3: I went to the Humane Society and donated a bag of cat food, a bag of dog food, and dog treats. The employees were so happy and grateful when we walked in with the things. They talked about Emily bringing in items too. The one lady said, “This is awesome because we have enough dog and cat food now that you girls made your delivery.”

Blueberry Moment 1: We had a food give away where all the Blueberry Ambassadors from Fiedler and AMS helped to unload the truck, greet people, and load the food into vehicles. The food was provided by the Food Bank and we gave the food away to the community. After the event there were cabbages, onions, and potatoes left at the school. I called a church friend and she came up to the school. I loaded all of the vegetables into her trunk as my first Blueberry Moment. She used the vegetables to make a stew to feed 60 people dinner in downtown Flint. It was great to help our school community as well as feed people in the Flint community.
Blueberry Moment 2: My second Blueberry Moment was sponsoring and organizing a popcorn sale for Kearsley Christmas Charity. The Fiedler Blueberry Ambassadors each worked a 30-minute shift during the sale. We raised $281 from the popcorn sale. All of the money will go to help make the holidays more cheerful for Kearsley families.
Blueberry Moment 3: My third Blueberry Moment was planning and purchasing crafts for the children who visit the Franklin Avenue Mission on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are approximately 20 children who come into the mission for one hour prior to when the dinner is served at the Franklin Avenue Diner. I enjoyed planning the crafts for the children.
