One day I was at a game and there was a boy and his cousin. They were sitting on the booth. I saw them sitting and they looked a little hungry so I went to the concessions and got them a Laffy Taffy. They appreciated it. One boy told his mom about what happened. They pointed to me and his mom smiled. Then I gave them my Blueberry Card. I felt good all night. I liked it.

One morning, my mom and I were going to school and I asked if we could get Tim Horton’s for breakfast. We got in line to order and the car behind us honked at us. My mom looked in the mirror. It was my mom’s friend. We got to the window to pay and I told my mom to give the cashier extra money to pay for my mom’s friend’s breakfast in the car behind us. I asked the cashier to let my mom’s friend know to pass on an act of kindness. That gave my heart a shot of kindness.

One day, I helped my grandma get up because she had a broken foot. I don’t know how she got the broken foot.

One cold winter day, I was at my mom’s work. I asked my Papa if he wanted anything from the store. He said, no. When we went to the store, we saw his favorite candy so we bought him it. When I walked in and gave it to him, he smiled. It felt good to see him smile.

One day, the Blueberry Ambassadors went to the senior center. We made cinnamon ornaments and had cookies and milk with the seniors. They smiled and it felt good to make them smile!

One afternoon, my mom and I were at McDonalds waiting in line for our food. The person behind us was five cents short so we gave them the five cents. It made me feel good that I helped someone get the food that they needed for that day. I try to help as many people as I can.

On my baby sister’s birthday my mom was cooking all the food for her birthday and was denying any help from everyone, but I helped her anyways. I started to put up the decorations. An hour later, I was done but my mom was still cooking all the food. I told my mom that she looked tired and that she should take a nap.

Blueberry Moment 11024Once I paid for a coffee at Tim Horton’s for someone else. I was so happy because I was going to pay for a police officer’s coffee, but they don’t charge them. So, I paid for a stranger’s coffee. That’s ok because I did a random act of kindness for someone. I felt really happy. I made my day!

Blueberry Moment 11028Once I paid for ice cream at Dairy Queen for the person in line behind us. I felt so good. I really like doing stuff for other people. I love Blueberry Ambassadors because it is fun. I did not get to see their face but I bet they were happy. I bet they would want to do it to someone else. I bet they were happy and I was happy too!

I helped my mom carry in groceries. If I didn’t help my mom, her arms will hurt. I don’t want that so I helped her carry the groceries. I felt good doing this for my mom. I am happy that my mom’s arms are not hurting and worn out.

One day, Mrs. Shatrau had to clean up after the science fair so I helped her. The other day I gave her the Blueberry Card. I also helped the principal. I cleaned tables and a lot more. My experiment was bubbles. I won first place. I helped clean Mrs. Shatrau’s table. Next year, I will do the science fair again and help clean up!

I got home from church and I thought I would help my mom and brothers day go easier by making them lunch for the next day. In my brother’s lunch, I put all his favorite foods, like Gold Fish crackers, Doritos, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and chocolate. In my mom’s lunch, I put an apple granola bar and chocolate. In my mom’s lunch I also put in a nice note to make her day.

I am so glad that I did these things for some people. I feel grateful! I think everybody did a great job including me. I feel like a lot of emotions are running through my brain. I feel like I am a true Blueberry Ambassador! I feel like I’ve truly been good. I feel happy because I gave a person a coffee at Tim Horton’s. I feel like they were very, very happy!

One Friday night, I went with some of my fellow Blueberry Ambassadors to Maplewood Manor Senior Home. We all brought cookies and milk and strung cranberries and popcorn for the Christmas Tree. Then we offered the seniors some cookies and read to them. We gave them Christmas cards we had made. It was so fun! It felt really good to brighten up their holiday season!

Blueberry Moment 11001Me and my sisters friend were playing foot war. I told her I could take down my bother that is 21. It was just a joke, but she took it seriously and said, “That’s because he is autistic.” I told my mom and she asked my friend, “Why would you say that?” My friend said she meant to say something else instead. I stuck up for my brother and gave my Blueberry Card to him.

One day after school, I went to Little Caesar’s and I got a pizza, plates, and napkins. Then my mom and I went to Sprint and we gave the two guys that work there the pizza. I put my Blueberry Card in between the plates. When we got out of the car, they seemed so happy and one of the guys even covered his face. A week before that my mom went to get her new phone fixed for the second time in one month and we told them we were going to bring them a pizza. They looked at us like we were lying. When we walked into Sprint with the pizza, one of the guys laughed and the other looked confused. I think that the guys were very happy. My mom and I felt really good.

I shoveled the driveway for my neighbor. It made me feel good and my neighbor feel good. She said, “Thank you very much.” She said someone was coming to shovel the driveway but hadn’t got there yet. We saw him on our way back home.

I volunteered with other Blueberry Ambassadors at the nursing home in our town. While we were at the nursing home we did different projects with the people who lived there. We made cranberry necklaces with them and other crafts. We brought books with us and read them to the residents. I brought a 39 Clues book with me and read part of it. We got to talk to them while we ate cookies and hung our cranberry necklaces on a tree with them. It made me happy to go spend time with the elderly people because I like to help people and meet new people. I think that it made them happy for us to go see them because they were smiling and seemed to have fun doing crafts with us. I would like to go back again and spend more time with them.

With this being my first year leading the Blueberry Ambassadors, I wasn’t sure what to expect, however what I received is far more than I could have ever expected! At this point, our group has participated in visiting seniors at two local nursing homes and has extended our gratefulness of the teachers in our building with small gifts. It has been emotionally moving and thought provoking to say the least to watch the children extent kindness to others, especially the seniors in our community. I have realized, as I hope the children have too, that however busy we may be in our daily lives, the world continues to go on around us. Being committed to take a bit of our time to be aware of the needs of others can make a significant impact on not only the lives of others, but as we have felt, also ourselves. The feelings we have left behind in our random acts of kindness have left us all with very full cups! It is my hope that the Blueberry Ambassadors I lead continue to recognize the power they have to change the world one person and one interaction at a time, and enjoy how it makes them feel about themselves! I am excited to be involved in all the future projects we have planned and being a part of the spreading kindness movement! Thank you for helping us to encourage and empower our youth through this program!
