Davison Central Elementary Blueberry Ambassadors make lasting impressions with acts of kindness

BLUEBERRY AMBASSADOR MOMENTS
Davison Central Elementary, coordinator Ellen Meinecke and Ms. Holder

As a collective group, students worked to create cards for a local assisted living home for the holiday season. Students were very excited not only to decorate their cards, but to write inspirational notes to bring cheer to the elderly members in our community. Residents were very excited to receive these homemade cards with well wishes.

Blueberry Moment 9181
I was out shopping at the Dollar Tree when I saw an elderly lady holding her bags and trying to open the door. So, I went and held the door open for her because I saw she had her hands full of stuff and could not open the door. That made me feel great knowing that I could give her a hand. Now you should try to make somebody’s day.

Blueberry Moment 9182
So when my mother told me my aunt was having surgery, I asked my mother if I could give her a goodie basket so she could feel better. I’ll tell you what I got her: sea salt, a candle, blankets, fuzzy socks, and grape juice because she can only drink grape juice and eat Ramen Noodles. You are probably wondering how I gave her my Blueberry Card? Well, I got a little container and put it inside the container. You should try to give kindness to somebody else and make their day.

Blueberry Moment 9183
I gave my teacher an early birthday present, she told me that she was stressed out because Bree, her daughter was sick, and she was going to be late for school, and her job. I was so glad I made her day. Now, when it is your teacher’s birthday, you should get them a gift and it could change their day.

Blueberry Moment 9163
For my first Blueberry Moment I helped my Yaya (grandmother) around her house since she cannot really get around very well. I went around and cleaned all her windows, and then I went to the kitchen. After I got all her rugs off the floor I swept and mopped the floor. It made me feel happy to help her out.

Blueberry Moment 9165
For my second Blueberry Moment I made a letter for my best friend Gabby. I used paint markers and colorful paper. Gabby is a great friend and I wanted her to know how much she means to me and how happy I am that she is my friend. It made me and Gabby happy.

Blueberry Moment 9164
For my last Blueberry Moment, I made cookies for the people at my mom’s work. I only had 12 cookies but it was just enough. It made me feel happy to give them cookies because they are always so nice to me when I am there.

Blueberry Moment 9100
For my first moment I gave donuts to the office secretaries. About two days before I did this, I asked them what is your absolute favorite donut. Two days later, I surprised them. When I did this, they had a huge smile on their faces.

Blueberry Moment 9101
For my second moment, I gave hot chocolate to Mr. Peters, who greets students and helps them through the parking lot before and after school, and Mr. Rutkowski, our gym teacher. When I gave it to Mr. R, he said I brightened his day. Then Mr. Peters said thank you and smiled.

Blueberry Moment 9102
For my last Blueberry Moment, I gave Tim Bits to Mrs. Griggs, my third grade teacher. When I gave them to her at first, she was unsure. She was like, “What? These are for me?” I responded with a yes. Then she said, “Thank you so much.”

Emily Blazen
Blueberry Moment 9103
For my first moment, I gave a donation to the Salvation Army. I gave them my family’s old toys and belongings. As I gave the man at the store my card, I felt happy that I had done something right. I gave him the card and hopped back in the car with a smile on my face. It felt good to do something right.

Blueberry Moment 9104
For my second Blueberry Moment, I gave a goodie bag to the mail lady. I gave her a bag of pretzels and a kind note, along with a card. They next day, I got a thank you note. It was from the mail lady. She thanked me for the snacks. I loved the happy feeling I had. I hope for other people to do good things like I did.

Blueberry Moment 9105
For my last moment I gave Valentine’s cards to someone in California. He wanted cards for crafting, so me and my mom decided to give him a card. Also, he was a veteran. I felt excited to do something right. When we sent it, I felt happy to do something good. You should do something kind.

Kaydince Brophy
Blueberry Moment 9184
Me and my mom took clothes to the church. We had three bags. We wanted to take them to the church because they would give them to people in need instead of selling them.

Blueberry Moment 9186
My mom has been working a lot. So, I have decided to help her around the house. I cleaned my entire room. I also put away the dishes, vacuumed the whole house, and cleaned two of our bathrooms. I did this before my mom could get home from work. She came home and saw what I did and was so happy.

Blueberry Moment 9185
For my birthday, I got a McDonalds gift card. The other night my mom did not feel like cooking, so we went to McDonalds to eat. I decided to take my gift card with me. We paid for the person behind us in line. I used my birthday card and had my mom give the lady at the window my Blueberry Card.

Chloe Bufford
Blueberry Moment 9197
For this card, I chose to make cards for sick kids at Hurley Hospital. I couldn’t see the expressions on their faces when they received them, but I hope that they very much enjoy their cards.

Blueberry Moment 9169
For this card, I asked my mom, “Hey can I bring hot chocolate to the crossing guard?” It was very cold, and by very, I mean very! I was so excited I forgot my backpack on the way. After I got my backpack, I saw the crossing guard and gave her the hot chocolate. She hugged me and she thanked me, and I deeply enjoyed when she hugged me. She replied, “Thank you.”

Blueberry Moment 9198
For this card, I decided to get chocolates and a bouquet of flowers for my neighbor. After I got out of school, I went to a place to get flowers and we brought up the chocolates and I rang the doorbell. She looked shocked and in the end, she said it really made her day.

Ezalena Carver
Blueberry Moment 9147
My first act of kindness was for my Aunt Heddie. She was supposed to come over to have a sleepover with me but ended up calling me and canceling because she was sick. I was sad, but I wanted to make her feel happy, so I made her red velvet cake pops. It made me feel happy because it made my Aunt Heddie feel great when I gave them to her.

Blueberry Moment 9146
For my second moment I dropped off toys, books, and movies to Outreach East for kids that wouldn’t have a lot for Christmas. It made me feel really good to think I could help even one kid have a nice Christmas. I know that the lady at Outreach was happy and glad.

Blueberry Moment 9145
For my third moment, before Christmas I made Christmas cookies with my mom and nana. I took them up to the Davison City Police Department as a thank you for watching out for all of us during the holidays and having to be away from their families. It made me feel amazing and they were happy and thankful that I thought of them.

Landry Clark
Blueberry Moment 9108
For my first moment, I wanted to do something nice for all the helping, encouraging teachers at my school. I put five chocolate kisses in plastic wrap with ribbon and then repeated that step 60 times. Then, I passed them out the next day and it was world kindness day inspired by Mr. Rogers #kindnessmatters. I gave them to the secretaries at my school’s office and to my principal, then I put the rest in the teacher’s lounge. Later that day, a teacher came to my class room, and asked, “Who is Landry Clark?” And then said, “Thank you, I loved the kisses!” I hope all the teachers enjoyed their little sweet treat!

Blueberry Moment 9106
For my second act, I decided to decorate tissue boxes with stickers and positive messages. I chose to hand out tissue boxes at Briarwood Nursing Home in Flint, because my great grandma stayed there two months before she passed this December. I spoke to the nurse at the nurse’s station and explained what I was doing and I gave her my Blueberry Card and said, “Pay your kindness forward.” As I was passing out tissues, I spoke to one older lady and I almost got a tear in my eye. She was so happy and grateful, and said, “Are these for me? Thank you so much.” I am so glad I put a big smile on her face, that moment made my day. I kept thinking of her smiling face all day!

Blueberry Moment 9107
For my last act, I wanted to do something kind for the staff at my doctor’s office. I wanted to make them a yummy, sweet treat! So, me and my mom baked cookie bars for them. I wanted to bake cookie bars because I know how hard my doctor and nurses work to make other kids feel better. They have always been there for me when I was sick, and I want them to know they are appreciated!

Rose Dewilde
Blueberry Moment 9187
Today for my first Blueberry activity I packed a gift box for my mail person. My box contained a gift card to Tim Hortons, hand warmers, a card with my Blueberry number on it, and Hershey kisses. I decided to put it in a skinny box so it would fit. When he or she receives it, I hope they read the note and I really hope it helps them spread happiness.

Blueberry Moment 9188
For my second Blueberry Moment, I wrote the office staff at my school a card. While I was at church I was thinking about people who don’t get thanked enough. When I gave it to them and they read it, it made me happy. I felt as though the office staff didn’t get enough appreciation for how much they help us, so I made sure to let them know how much they are appreciated. Make sure you let everyone know who happy they make you!

Blueberry Moment 9189
For my third Blueberry Moment, I decided to pay for someone’s dinner at the Taco Bell drive through. I imagined that she went to pay for her dinner, and she realized she didn’t need to and was so excited that she didn’t have to pay. It made me feel happy. I’m bummed that I couldn’t see their face, but I am glad I did it. The only part we saw was the lady start to give the money. I hope that encourages her to do something nice.

Gabby Edgar
Blueberry Moment 9167
For my first random act of kindness, I made treat bags for the crossing guards. I see them when it’s rainy, sunny and snowy. I thought about them because they help people cross the street and just say hi. So, last Thursday I gave it to them, and they all said, “Thank you.” But what made my heart fill with joy is that one of the crossing guards just stared at me for like a minute. Then she gave me a big, gigantic hug and right there my heart filled up with joy. My heart was pounding like crazy and then she started to cry. In my head, I thought why is she crying? All I did was gave her a treat bag. But I had a thought maybe kindness doesn’t happen in her life a lot.

Blueberry Moment 9168
For my second random act of kindness, I made cookies for the Davison Fire Department. How I got this idea I was just doing my homework, and something popped into my head. I was like “Why don’t I make cookies for the firefighters? I want to be a firefighter when I grow up.” So, me and my mom made cookies. The next day we went to the fire station. When we got there, I was nervous. My mom knocked and they opened the door. I was greeted and my mom was too. I saw Mr. Mike, our crossing guard. I was so surprised to see him! Then they told me to go in the garage area with the fire trucks, so I went. Then we took a picture. All of them were there. Almost all the cookies were gone and for that I got something in return. They said, “I could go there all the time.” That’s why you should do stuff to make people happy.

Blueberry Moment 9167
For my last random act of kindness, I picked up trash for the Earth. How I got this idea is because I thought it might help the world from getting trashed. People always throw trash out their car windows and they’re polluting the world so I thought I would help with that. So, when I got out of school my mom had bags right when we went to the corner, I saw trash and I picked it up. Then when I saw the crossing guard she said “What’s with the big smile? Did you have a good day at school?” I said “yes.” Then we went to the big sidewalk and I saw a plastic straw. I was like “Oh no! Let me pick this up!” So, I did. So, if you see trash you can pick it up and help the Earth.

Blueberry Moment 9171
My first moment was when it was a very snowy day. With my grandma’s permission, I went over to an older man’s house to ask if I could shovel his driveway. He couldn’t lift anything heavy or huge, like the snow. When he came out to look when I was done, he looked at me and didn’t say anything. I explained how I was a Blueberry, then he smiled and we drove away.

Blueberry Moment 9169
For my second moment, it was another snowy day, and everybody wanted hot chocolate. We went to Tim Hortons and went to the window and paid for the person’s drink behind us. Even though I couldn’t see the person behind me I still felt so proud of myself.

Blueberry Moment 9170
My last Blueberry Moment is when I donated all of my small clothes and shoes. I donated them all to my church. I talked to the pastor and he said I had a big heart and that made me feel really good. Also, starting next Saturday I will begin running the concession stand at my church for upward basketball.

Isabelle Ferguson
Blueberry Moment 9109
Before Christmas, I wanted to donate some of my toys. Later that month I donated a lot of the ones I did not need for people who do not have toys. We took the toys to Outreach East. I was really happy they would be enjoyed by other kids. The lady smiled big at me. I think she enjoyed it too.

Blueberry Moment 9110
For my second moment we went to Biggby Coffee to buy someone’s drink. People were already there when we first arrived, so we got hot chocolate and waited. When someone came in, I ran over to her and asked if we could buy her a drink, which she agreed. I felt so happy doing it. I think she was very happy as well.

Blueberry Moment 9111
For my last moment I made dinner for my mom. My mom was really busy, so I asked her if she needed help. She said, “Yes, you can make dinner.” She was so happy from this and I was happy too.

Mackenzie Gonzalez
Blueberry Moment 9192
For my first moment, I was at McDonalds with my dad and I asked him if we could pay for the person’s food behind us. He said yes, so we gave the cashier the card and said, “Can you give this to the person behind us?” She said yes. When we looked behind us, we saw that they had paid for the person’s food behind them. I felt happy, proud, and excited that I created a chain. I was happy to pay for the person behind us.

Blueberry Moment 9190
For my second Blueberry Moment I wanted to do something nice for our crossing guard at school. His name is Mike and he has helped me every day to cross the street. He is out helping kids cross the street no matter what the weather is like. I had a Starbucks gift card and wanted to give it to him. So, I put it in an envelope and while I was walking home from school, I handed it to him and said, “Here you go this is for helping me cross the street every day.” He said, “Thank you.” It made me feel happy to do something nice for Mike the crossing guard. I am so glad I was able to give him a gift card for Christmas time.

Blueberry Moment 9191
At my church we have a nursery. On Wednesday nights, my mom helps in the nursery. I asked her if I could help out one Wednesday. I helped her watch babies and played with them. It made me feel happy because I got to help people. If people did not help in the nursery the parents of the babies would not be able to help out in other areas of the Church on Wednesday night.

Bree Holder
Blueberry Moment 9150
As one of my Blueberry Moments, I got Miss Jaydan, my dance teacher, her favorite Tim Horton’s coffee. After a really long day, she still had to teach dance ALL night! She got so excited when I showed up with the coffee, that when I gave it to her, she broke out in a smile, and gave me a hug! She said, “You have no idea how much I needed that today!” It made me feel so good to make her day!

Blueberry Moment 9149
For another one of my Blueberry Moments, I thought about who else I could do something nice for. Then, I thought of Miss Meinecke! She is in charge of the Blueberries at our school AND the safety patrol program. That is a lot of work! I bought her a gift card to Tim Horton’s. When I gave it to her, she almost cried. She said, “Thank you, that was so thoughtful, Bree.” I said, “You’re welcome. You do so much for all of us, and I wanted to do something for you.” It made my morning to have made Miss Meinecke feel so appreciated!

Blueberry Moment 9148
I was playing outside at my apartment complex with my friend, Lexi, and we noticed a bunch of litter. We decided to get a garbage bag and clean the area up a bit. No one asked me to do it, I just did it because it seemed like the right thing to do. After we took the collected trash to the dumpster, we went and told my mom what we had done. She was so proud of me. She said that seemed like a Blueberry Moment, and I should take a Blueberry Card to the front office, and just let them know what we did. When we went to the office, I was so nervous, but the ladies who worked there were so nice! As I told them what I did, they were so grateful and appreciative, it made my mom cry. Then the manger came out from the back room, once he heard, with a handful of candy. It was really nice! Then we asked if we could take a picture. They said of course, and then asked if they could take a picture, too! My mom had to sign a waiver so they could use our picture on their website. They said no one had ever done that before without being asked or paid to clean up. I felt good to have helped our environment.

Blueberry Moment 9114
I had been thinking about doing this Blueberry Moment for a while. I decided to make a basket for our mail carrier. So, one day I put together a basket that included some gum, pop, candy, a kind note thanking her and the Blueberry Card. It felt really good to do this and make my mail carrier feel special.

Blueberry Moment 9112
My great grandpa lives in an assisted living home named American House. I chose to do my moment there because I was able to visit my grandpa and leave some mints for his friends, we even had a little dance party. I set out a few bowls with mints in them on the tables in the sitting room. I had also made holiday cards to put with the bowls and the Blueberry Card.

Blueberry Moment 9113
My mom and I talked about what I should do for my third moment and came up with this one. For carts at Aldi you have to put quarters into the carts. So, I took quarters and put them in some of the carts. We also made a cup that I taped the Blueberry Card to. It said “Need a quarter? Take a quarter.” I put $4.00 in quarters into the cup and left it for people to take if they need one.

Blueberry Moment 9172
My first deed was when I shoveled our new neighbor’s driveway on a snow day. I wasn’t planning to do my first deed that day but my neighbors were gone at that time of the day and their driveway was the only one in our subdivision that’s driveway wasn’t shoveled yet. So, I asked my parents if I could go over there and help them out with their driveway, and they said it was ok and that I could. I shoveled their sidewalk and their driveway all the way to the cement. When they got home, I walked over there and explained to her about the card and what she is supposed to do with it, and my siblings and I drew a picture for them because I wanted to include them any way I can, but it felt good about doing something kind and helpful for someone else, instead of them doing it to me!

Blueberry Moment 9173
For my second Blueberry deed, me and my grandma made homemade peanut butter dog treats out of water, flour, eggs, and peanut butter. We also made some chocolate chip cookies. Then, me and my grandpa went to the Lapeer County Animal Shelter. When we walked in, we told them what they were supposed to do with the Blueberry Card. Then we kindly asked them if we could hand out some of the peanut butter dog treats, and of course they said yes! I grabbed a treat and walked up to a cage and put the treat in the bars, and slowly the dog walked up. Then the dog slowly took the treat from my hand and started to nibble at it. I could see the happiness in the dogs eyes. Even the animal control guy took a dog out from its pen and I got to pet it and feed it one of the treats. When we were done feeding the dogs their treats, I gave the chief of the dog shelter chocolate chip cookies with frosting on top. They gave me a big smile. It felt good to give back to the community.

Blueberry Moment 9174
For my final Blueberry deed, I have decided to visit my neighbor Nancy, I picked her because she always gives our dogs biscuits and is having a hard time because she has cancer. She used to go to Bingo every Thursday, but since she has cancer she cannot go anymore. So, we have decided to make our own bingo sheets and bring it to her along with some cookies that we made. We ate the cookies and played bingo. She also gave me a bag of dog treats! The happy look on her face made my happy too.

Aubrey Joubran
Blueberry Moment 9116
Me and my dad went to go donate $400 to a senior center so they can buy the goods for the seniors. As I was driving there, I thought in my head, “I’m lucky to have what I have.” I walked into the place to give the women the money. I told her all about the Blueberry Card. When I gave her the card, she said, “You are a very nice young lady.” Then she gave me a hug. It filled my heart with joy.

Blueberry Moment 9115
For another act of kindness, I put chocolate and a kind note in a plastic bag and gave it to my dance teacher, Miss Victoria. When I got to dance, I said, “Here Miss Victoria! I made a thank you bag for you.” She said, “Thank you Aubrey, you got me my favorite chocolates.” She gave me a big hug!

Blueberry Moment 9117
For another random act of kindness, I made bookmarks for the librarian, Mrs. Duckworth. When I went to the library on Friday, I put them in a bag and said, “Mrs. Duckworth, I made you bookmarks to give out to the school.” She said, “Aww, thank you Aubrey, I will use them for sure!”

Ella Kitsko
Blueberry Moment 9118
For my first Blueberry Moment, I bought donuts and took them to the Davison Township police station. It made me happy to give back to people who help us and keep us safe. They were happy to get their treats. It was a good way to start the day.

Blueberry Moment 9119
For my second Blueberry Moment, I decided to spread kindness in my neighborhood. I did a thing called, “You’ve Been Jingled.” I went to the store and bought a box of chocolates. Then, I copied the directions and added that to a gift bag with the chocolates. Then I snuck to two neighbors’ houses. I left the gifts on their front porch and rang the doorbell. Then I dashed away. I chose to leave a gift at my kindergarten teacher’s house because she is special to me. I also chose the neighbor that lives across the street. She lives alone and I thought she could use a little kindness. It made me feel so happy to leave a special treat for my neighbors to find. I hope it made them feel happy that I chose them.

Blueberry Moment 9120
For my final Blueberry Moment, I helped a family who just took in two foster children. This family took in these children just a week before Christmas. I wanted to help them buy gifts for the foster children so they could have a great Christmas too. I went to the store with my mom to choose things I thought they would like. The little girl is five years old and the little boy is three years old. I had fun choosing their presents because I knew it would help them feel good. I had fun wrapping the gifts and delivering them to the foster dad to give to the children on Christmas morning. I can’t include pictures of the children because they are in foster care. The foster dad was very happy that we brought the gifts for the children. On Christmas Day, he texted my dad to say that the kids loved their gifts. That made me feel very good inside.

Braylen Lane
Blueberry Moment 9121
The purpose of the hot cocoa bar was to give a gift to all of the teachers because they all work so hard and some people don’t even notice, but I do! I just wanted to give this hot cocoa bar to the teachers for all their hard work. When I did that, I felt good about what I did and I got so many good compliments. One teacher made me feel so good when they said, “you know this just made my day.” That compliment felt so good inside. That’s when I knew I did something pretty good!

Blueberry Moment 9122
The purpose of the clean-up time was to help my teacher by cleaning up her room because we had a sub for the day. The room was a mess! Miss. Meinecke was out sick, so I cleaned up her room for her. I felt like she could use some help I didn’t want her to come in and have to do all of that work, so I picked up her room. The next day I came to school and when Miss. Meinecke came up to me and she said, “Did the class pick up the room yesterday?” No, I said I came in here yesterday and tidied it up. She looked at me and said, “Well thank you that just helped me out a lot!” I could tell that she was very happy and very thankful.

Blueberry Moment 9123
The purpose of lunch time was I wanted to help out my mom. She was so stressed out and sad. So, I helped out by packing lunches for me and Bryce. She came downstairs and said, “what are you doing?” I said, “I just wanted to help because you are the best mom ever and you deserve anything you want so I wanted to help you out.” She looked at me and said, “I love you so much,” she just hugged me and said, “thank you.” And I felt so happy and proud.

Ethan Lawrence
Blueberry Moment 9124
I made a care package of hair products, shaving cream, deodorant, dental packs, baby wipes, and soap for our service members deployed overseas. I hope the care packages are useful and makes the service members happy.

Blueberry Moment 9125
For my second random act of kindness, I adopted a seven-year-old boy for Christmas through Outreach East. I felt good because I was able to make someone else happy for Christmas with my own money. I hope he was surprised and happy with all the gifts.

Blueberry Moment 9126
I took cookies to the Davison Township Police Department. I felt joyful because the police serve our community and they deserve a reward. I think they were happy by looking at their faces.

Kyle Leonard
Blueberry Moment 9127
As a proud Blueberry, my first moment was at a Davison Cardinals High School football game. Someone mentioned that they were a little bit cold. I offered them a blanket of mine, and they politely rejected it. They seemed pretty neutral, but I still felt happy inside for having offered this blanket. My mom laughed.

Blueberry Moment 9128
As a proud Central Blueberry Ambassador, my second moment of honor is donating clothes. I went through all my clothes in my closet and dresser. I donated to a local charity that helps out local families in need. When I did this, the kindness I felt in my heart, in my opinion, was so high that I felt as happy as ever! As for the others, well, I know that they will be so grateful that people like me donate.

Blueberry Moment 9129
As a proud Central Blueberry Ambassador, my third moment of honor is paying for someone else’s product. I didn’t actually pay for it, I only left some money behind after purchasing my own product. And because of that, I only felt a little surprised. But I have a feeling that the customer that used the money I left behind, felt good inside. And I hope that they paid it forward for the next customer in line.

Blueberry Moment 9130
For my first Blueberry Moment, I bought a snack for my whole class. I know that my teacher spends a lot of money on snacks because there are kids who never bring a snack and she always makes sure that they have snacks. So, in December I got some of my own money and I went to the store with my mother and picked out a bunch of peanut free snacks that I thought my classmates would like. When I brought them in my teacher was very grateful and it felt good to help her because she is always helping me.

Blueberry Moment 9131
This was my most favorite moment of all. It was the start of Christmas break for us and my family decided to celebrate by going out to dinner. While we were eating our dinner, I noticed a lady who was sitting in the booth by herself. When I saw her at first, I thought that maybe her family was just running late because no one eats alone at Christmas time. But, as we continued to eat nobody came to sit with her. She was all alone eating her dinner. This made my heart feel sad. Christmas time is such a fun time that should be spent with family and this lady didn’t have any family to eat dinner with. So, I leaned over to my mom and pointed out the lady. She said that it was sad but some people just don’t have as many family members as we do, especially when you get older. So, I thought about it some more and when the server came back I asked him if I could pay for that lady’s bill. I was so excited to do something nice that I forgot I didn’t actually have any money on me. But, of course my mom said she would pay and I could pay her back from my money at home that I have been saving. So, I paid for her meal. When her server told her that her meal was paid for she broke out in tears. She asked who paid for it and her server pointed to me. She came over to our table and told me that I may never understand what it meant to her for me to care enough about her to pay for her meal. She explained that her husband’s dementia had gotten really bad and he wasn’t able to join to for dinner any longer. She missed eating with him so much and Christmas time was just not the same without him. It felt so good to know that I had a hand in touching someone else’s life, especially during Christmas time. She also said that the founder of the Blueberry program was her dear friend and she thought it was amazing that his awesome idea had come full circle in blessing her too. I will never forget the moment I was able to brighten her day. Not only did I do something kind for her but her appreciation for that kindness is something that will stick with me forever. She was genuinely happy and I know I made a difference in her life.

Blueberry Moment 9132
For my third Blueberry Moment, I wanted to do something for my favorite bus driver. I don’t think that bus drivers get enough credit or praise for getting all of us kids to and from school safely. Mr. Jeff was awesome. He was so funny all the time and would even dress up in costumes on holidays. I gave Mr. Jeff a Tim Hortons gift card to show him my appreciation. In return Mr. Jeff promised me he would pay it forward. The next week Mr. Jeff told me he had an opportunity to help someone else. He helped a lady who had just gotten a divorce and couldn’t afford to fix her furnace. He fixed her furnace for free and even gave her the Blueberry Card to pay it forward to someone else. What I learned from this is that even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference and many people’s lives.

Blueberry Moment 9175
For my first random act of kindness I helped with the turkey brigade. My karate school does this every year. We pack boxes of food and then the next day we give them away to people who need it. When we got there, we started to get the boxes out so we could pack and decorate them. I helped pack the peanut butter and the jam. Then I started to help decorate the boxes. I decorated them with Thanksgiving pictures and stickers! Then after we decorated and packed all the boxes we went home. I felt good to give back to the community.

Blueberry Moment 9175
Tis the season to be giving. Happy holiday! For my second random act of kindness I donated toys to Toys for Tots. My karate school, PKSA does this every year. I donated seven toys to Toys for Tots so that other kids can have a fun Christmas. Toys for Tots is for kids that don’t have toys on Christmas. At my karate school, we stacked all the toys up and up and up. Kind of like a toy mountain. I hope that the kids I was able to help get what they want for Christmas.

For my third random act of kindness, I made some treats for the police officers. The first thing we did was go to the store to get the supplies to make it. The things we were going to make were chocolate chip cookies and zucchini bread. After we did that, we went home and made it. When we were making the zucchini bread, I dropped an egg on the counter. We also got a thank you card, and I put my Blueberry Card in it. The next day, we went to give the treats to the officers. We went to the police station to give the treats to them. But they were not open and no one was there. So, we went home. Two day later it was Monday and it was a school day. We got ready for school. We were also going to take the treats to the police officers. We left at 8:00 am. When we got to the police station we went inside. Good thing it was open. When we got inside, we went to give the treats to the police officer. We shook hands and I gave him the treats. He smiled and he said thank you. After that we went to school.

For my first act of kindness, I helped my neighbor, Diane, with cleaning under her porch. I helped her because she went to the hospital and I also wanted to help out her daughter named Lori. With my help, we filled a whole garbage bag with leaves. It felt good to be able to help her. I think I did a good job!

Blueberry Moment 9179
For my second act of kindness, I helped my Uncle Kevin by keeping my cousins out of their faces. I helped him because he needed my help and I also wanted to help my Aunt Carien. With me helping, they got some much-needed rest. I felt good for helping them. I think I did a good job.

Blueberry Moment 9180
For my last act of kindness, I helped my neighbor Diane again with three things. First, I was filling up a bowl of nuts. Second, I brought two cat food bags and a dog food bag into the house. Last, I broke down two big Chewy company boxes. She is older and on oxygen. I think it was very nice for me to do and was very fun. I think I did a good job.

For my first moment, I was grabbing a notebook from my locker and I saw a kid working in the hall. Since I got some mints on the bus that same morning, I offered him one and he said yes.

Blueberry Moment 9016
For my second Blueberry Moment, I was swinging with my friends at recess. The people next to us got off the swings and one of my friends said, “Why guys, we can move to the end now.” I ran to the end swing, but I could see that my friend wanted to sit there, so I let her and chose a different swing for myself.

Blueberry Moment 9017
For my third Blueberry Moment, I gave my teacher a drawing. She smiled and it made me very proud. She asked me to sign it, so I did.

My first Blueberry Moment is when I had my mom help me make hot chocolate to give to my bus driver on a cool morning to warm him up. When I gave the hot chocolate to Mr. Barry, he smiled and thanked me, and I went back to my seat. When I got off the bus that morning, Mr. Barry stopped me to say it was delicious. I knew that mom helped me make the best hot chocolate! It made me feel really good when I gave the hot chocolate to Mr. Barry, and he really seemed to enjoy it too!

Blueberry Moment 9014
For my second Blueberry Moment, I donated some of my old stuff that was still in good shape to a homeless shelter. First, I had to use Google to search and choose which homeless shelter that I wanted to donate to. We went to My Brother’s Keeper of Genesee County on a Thursday after school. I felt really good when I donated my stuff to those children. It made me feel happy to help give them stuff that they need. I bet they felt really good about getting it also.

Blueberry Moment 9018
My third Blueberry Moment is when I helped a little girl up when she fell at Rollhaven. She thanked me when I helped her. Later on, when we were skating on the rink, she lost her balance and I was close by. I gave her back to her skate trainer and helped her up again. When I helped her up, it made me feel so good that I helped her. I think she felt grateful for it too.

For my first Blueberry Moment, I was shopping at Meijer with my mom and brother when I noticed all the toys in the toy aisle. That’s when I decided I wanted to buy a toy with my own money and donate it to Toys for Tots. I wrote a letter explaining that I was a Blueberry Ambassador and attached it with the Blueberry Card to the Barbie I bought. After I donated the Barbie, I felt very good because I knew I was helping a child in need at Christmas.

Blueberry Moment 9152
For my second Blueberry Moment, I donated some of my old books to the library. I love reading and enjoy going to the library to check out books to take home to read. The books I donated will be sold at the next book sale, which will help make money for the library. The money that is made from the sale will help buy new books, DVDs and supplies for events that the community can enjoy. I hope another person will enjoy reading my old books as much as I did!

Blueberry Moment 9153
For my last moment, I put up bags of microwave popcorn on our local Redbox. I wrote notes that said, “Enjoy this popcorn with your movie!” and attached them to the front of the bags. My family loves spending time together watching movies and sharing a bowl of popcorn. I decided to do this so another person or family can enjoy some popcorn during their movie too.

For my first activity, I decided to make chocolate chip cookies for my school teachers and staff. They work very hard for us students and I appreciate them, so I decided to give them a little extra treat. I asked my grandma to help me. She said, “I will watch you.” So, I measured the ingredients, mixed them together and baked them. At school, lots of teachers that day passed by and said that the cookies were amazing. I said, “That’s because I baked them with my grandma’s special ingredient, a little bit of love.”

Blueberry Moment 9133
For my second activity, I bought hot cocoa and a blueberry muffin for the crossing guard. I decided to do this because every day on my way to school he is always helping kids get across the road. I think he deserves recognition because I never see him miss a day, no matter if it’s raining, snowing, sleeting, or even hale. Even though I am not a walker, I am proud and thankful for him. I think the rest of the kids are too. I told him that the blueberry muffin represents the Blueberry Ambassadors.

Blueberry Moment 9135
My third activity was a visit to my grandma’s assisted living home. I first stopped at the main office to make sure it was okay to hand out a treat to the residents after their dinner. She said that she was sure they would all love it. I went at dinner time because I had after dinner mints for everyone. My grandma’s friends and neighbors are so nice and friendly. I had a good time visiting with them all. They enjoy young children to talk to as well. Most of the people who live there are very nice, friendly and funny. It was an amazing visit. I will go back again soon.

For my first Blueberry Card, I helped my mom shop for a family who needed help for Christmas. I used some of my chore money to help my mom buy a couple presents for them. I think they needed the presents more than I did. I hope these small presents make someone happy on Christmas.

Blueberry Moment 9137
Next, I filled some carts at Aldi with quarters. The carts there make you pay a quarter to use them. Sometimes people might not have an extra quarter and they wouldn’t be able to use a cart. I hope by filing some of the carts that I was able to help someone who didn’t have the quarter for the cart.

Blueberry Moment 9136
For my final moment I wanted to do something nice for someone who had a bad day. I knew Mrs. Watson, our secretary, was away for a few days and wanted to do something nice for her. I gave her a little gift to help cheer her up and make her have a better day.

I went into Biggby and we waited for some people to come. A few moments later, we saw two people come in. I told my mom that I wanted to pay for their order, so she gave me some money and I went up to them, and I asked, “Hey, can I pay for your order?” They said sure and since my sister worked there, she knew it was coming. I gave her the money. After that, I chatted a bit with them and I found out that the guy there worked as a bus driver at Central!! They seemed so happy when I bought their order and I was happy to do it! I’m so happy I could spread kindness to these people. When you make someone feel good by being kind to them, it makes you feel good too.

Blueberry Moment 9155
I found out that people with cancer sometimes lose their hair due to treatment. I thought about cutting my hair, so that I could donate it to them. I told my mom, and she said ok. She has a friend named Hailey who is a hair stylist, and we drove to her house so that I could get my haircut. Once we arrived, we went in and my brother got his haircut first. After he got his haircut, I sat on the chair next. It took a while for my haircut, as we had to make sure I had enough hair to donate. I got my haircut and we saw the big reveal. When I looked at my hair, I imagined how happy the people with cancer will be with my hair.

Blueberry Moment 9156
My mom’s friend Hilary was trying to save money and refused to buy herself new slippers. Her slippers were worn out, so my mom and I bought her new slippers. My sister and I wrapped the slippers, and I made a card to put with the gift. I put the Blueberry Card inside of the card. After that, I taped the card on to the gift. A few minutes later, we got into the car and drove to Hilary’s house. My sister and I went up to her door and set the gift down on the porch. We went back in the car and I felt lots of joy. “I hope she likes the slippers,” I said. Hilary posted pictures on her Facebook later that night about how excited she was for this act of kindness.

For my first act of kindness, I made scarves for our school success coordinator Mr. Peters and the people at Vista Drop-In center in Flint. When they got the scarves, they were really happy and appreciative. The Vista center people were extra appreciative because the building didn’t have heat the day I delivered them. I wanted to make scarves because I know Mr. Peters gets cold being a crossing guard at drop off and pick up times. Also, the people at Vista center don’t have as many things as other people so I was excited to deliver my homemade winter scarves in hopes of brightening their day.

Blueberry Moment 9011
For my second act of kindness, I colored a wooden nutcracker and wrote a message for Ricky Flagg. Ricky Flagg is a professional dancer from Tennessee who danced in the role of nutcracker in the ballet The Nutcracker in which I also performed as a soldier. When I gave him the gift, he was surprised. His smile and hug told me he was delighted with it. I wanted to make a gift for Ricky because he was away from home and I hoped it would bring him joy.

Blueberry Moment 9015
For my last act of kindness, I donated some stuffed animals to Ms. Rosetta. Ms. Rosetta teaches Sunday School at Swartz Creek Church of Christ and uses stuffed animals and small toys as prizes for good behavior. When I was getting rid of some of my stuffed animals, I wanted to donate them to a place where they would get lots of love. Luckily on the day I donated them, she had been running low, so she was overjoyed to get this donation.

For my first moment, I went to a nursing home in Grand Blanc and sang Christmas songs. When I was singing, I saw people singing along tapping their feet and fingers. But after I finished singing, there was this one elderly lady in a wheelchair who could not talk very well but the way she communicated with me was she held out her hand and I held it and it made me feel a warm feeling inside me. I wish I could have caught her name and thanked her. When I went to give my card to the nurse, she seemed very excited about the Blueberry program and said that she wished me luck on my next good deed. I also noticed that she was excited about passing it on. How I was able to do this deed was because of my papa Mo so I would not have done this deed without him so I would like to make a special shout out to him. He really liked doing this with me.

Blueberry Moment 9008
For my second moment, I went to a normal restaurant and the waitress was very nice and I know it is very hard to be a waitress. So, at the end of our meal at Ford’s Garage, I took out a piece of paper and wrote her a nice letter and I explained some about the Blueberry Ambassador card. I hope she smiled like another waitress that had told me that she had just lost her sister which not just brightened her day but also mine. I love writing letters to waitresses. It makes me feel so great inside.

Blueberry Moment 9012
For my last Blueberry Moment, I went over to my neighbor Margaret’s house to spend time with her. I love spending time with her because she is super nice to be around. I feel that I have a person right next to me that I can share my feelings with. When I was there, I learned how to knit and I colored with her which was nice. The reason why I went to her on a rainy day is she is stuck at home because the weather is super bad, so I went over there for about two hours and we had a great time. When I gave my neighbor, Margaret the Blueberry Card, she was very excited to pass it on. I chose to go over to see Margaret because she helped me get into the Blueberry program so I wanted her to be a part of it. I knew by the look on her face that she was glad to be helping me and the Blueberry program.

For my first Blueberry Moment, I gave the workers at the bus garage some treats. I did this because I wanted to thank the bus garage for getting kids home safe. How this made me feel was great because I got to show the bus drivers how thankful I was for driving me and other students home safely. How I think it made them feel happy because they had a big smile on their face.

Blueberry Moment 9140
For my second Blueberry Moment, I took candy to the Central Elementary staff and teachers. I did this because the Central elementary staff and teachers have been working hard and need a snack break. How it made me feel is great because they were happy and grateful for the gift. How I think it made them feel grateful because they were very happy when they got the gift.

Blueberry Moment 9141
For my third Blueberry Moment, I made homemade chocolate chip cookies and took them to the elderly residents at Stonegate in Lapeer. I wanted to do this because I wanted to make the elderly happy and feel good because they have to stay at the nursing home all the time and some people don’t have family that comes to visit them. How it made me feel was good because the look on their faces made my heart shine. How I think it made them feel was wonderful because they said I did a great job making the cookies and they really enjoyed it. One man even said he would see me again next week because he wanted me to bring some more cookies then. I hope they do well and they don’t get hurt or have any injuries.

When I was getting off the bus, my bus driver said you’re being a great student, take five pieces of candy. I was filled with joy. The very next day I gave a present to her. When I looked back, she was also filled with joy.

Blueberry Moment 9158
For my next Blueberry Moment, I wanted to do something for a kid. I was thinking, what if I paid for a kid’s lunch. I gave him my Blueberry Card and he looked confused. But then he found out it was me and he was filled with happiness.

Blueberry Moment 9159
I donated all of my pop cans to get a check of $50. I decided to take that money and put it into a kid’s lunch account at school. After, I felt really good and could tell one of the lunch monitors was very happy about it.

For my first Blueberry Card, I helped Troop 160 Boy Scouts deliver scarves. This was our third year making and putting out the scarves. We tie the scarves to trees, poles, and statues so the homeless can stay warm during the winter.

Blueberry Moment 9194
For my next moment, my mom and I gathered some pennies and went to Meijer. We put the cup of pennies next to the stand of the horse, Sandy. I hope the little kids have fun!

Blueberry Moment 9195
For my final moment, I taped some popcorn and hot chocolate packages on to a Redbox machine. We left a note that said, “Enjoy your movie with some snacks.”

Blueberry Moment 9142
For my first Blueberry Moment, I handed out signs to the teachers in my building that said, “Be Happy” and “Be Humble and Kind.” This Blueberry Moment helped me be happy. I was having a hard morning. My grandma’s friend died, and we were going to her viewing. We saw all the teachers happy, it turned my day around and made me so happy.

Blueberry Moment 9143
For my second Blueberry Moment, I went to the VIP group home. This is a home for adults with challenges. We gave them Christmas presents and we cooked them a meal. They were so happy and that made me really happy. What made me really happy was one of them wished she could have a hug from me, so I told her of course.

Blueberry Moment 9144
For my third Blueberry Moment, I went to help my grandma at the Davison Library. I helped her with putting away books and bringing in boxes and setting up chairs. They were really thankful for my help.

Blueberry Moment 9160
For one of my moments I passed out cards to people at Meijer. They said stuff like “You can do it!” and “Jesus loves you.” I gave one of these cards to this lady named Colleen. The card said, “You got this!” She ended up pulling my mom to the side and told her that she had cancer, and unfortunately it was newly back. She had tears down her face as she read the message. Colleen was feeling down, as though she could not make it through, so when I gave her my card it made her feel like she could. It made me feel warm inside to know I just helped a lady that was very sad and sick.

Blueberry Moment 9162
For my second moment, I gave warm chocolate chip cookies to administrators and members of the school board of Davison. I gave the cookies to them and they said thank you. It made me smile. I was nervous at first but when they said thank you and smiled I was not nervous anymore. They were all nice.

Blueberry Moment 9161
For my third Blueberry Moment, I helped the guest librarian put all the books away. I also helped to check in the books. She did not ask me to help, I just tried to be a very nice person. I came in there a lot. Whenever I went in there she smiled and said thank you. It made me happy every time.
