On Saturday December 17, 2016, my dad and I went to VG’s because I wanted to give a Starbucks gift card to the cart pusher. It snowed a lot overnight and it’s hard to push carts in that much snow. I know it is hard to push carts in the snow because I have to take out the trash in the snow. We found a spot by the cart corral and the guy was just leaving to get more carts. When we handed it to him, he shook my hand and then he went towards the Starbucks door. It made me happy to see the smile on his face.

On Monday December 19, 2016, when I got to school I went to my locker area and put sticky notes with nice things on people’s lockers to brighten up their day. I attached a Blueberry Card to one of them to brighten up their day.

On December 20, I donated books to the Davison Little Library by Hill Elementary. In my favorite book, I wrote a little note and put my Blueberry Card inside. I hope the person who reads the book likes it as much as I did.

This year, I went to Outreach East and bought a doll and an outfit for a little girl in need. I also went through all my clothes, coats, and my games and donated them to Outreach to help people.

My second blueberry moment was when we went up to the upper Peninsula. I paid for the bridge toll for the person behind me. I try to do this every time I go up there.

For this random act of kindness, I helped first graders spell some words for writing stories about animals. It was fun to meet the kids. There was a very excited kid to have his turn and I could tell that the teacher was happy I helped. Next, I went to a fourth grade class to help with math. They were learning multiplication, so I helped the kids with math. It was fun to help the kids with their math and I think the teacher was happy I helped.

For this random act of kindness, I went to an office and organized a closet that had not been clean in a long time. I think that the secretaries were happy I helped. I felt proud that I could use my skills to help others.

For this random act of kindness, I went to a second grade class and help two kids finish their test, then I organized the class library so it would look good for conferences. I think the teacher was happy I helped out. I enjoy being a Blueberry ambassador!

Me and my dad went Christmas shopping. My dad wanted to get a coffee from Starbucks. When we got in the drive thru, I told my dad we should buy someone else’s drink. So, when we got up to the window we paid for our order and for the persons behind us. We gave the cashier the Blueberry Card and asked that they pass it on to the person behind us. I felt really good about doing something nice for someone else and will never forget how it made me feel.

I was in the Arby’s drive thru with my mom and older sister. As we pulled in, I said we should buy the person’s food behind us, so we did. We passed on another Blueberry Card to the cashier. As we pulled away, I looked back to see the cashier give the lady in the car the Blueberry Card, and I could see her smiling. I thought how nice it feels to do something nice for someone else.

Today, I did something I did not think I could do. A few weeks ago, my mom and I came up with an idea called “Katie’s Wishing Well” because I wanted to help kids in Flint. I created a “wishing well” and was able to collect $100.00. With that money I was able to buy 100 gallons of water and donate them to Salem Lutheran Church in Flint. My grandparents and my sister helped me deliver the water. They were so happy to get it. I gave a Blueberry Card to the pastor and told her what Blueberry Ambassadors do. I will never forget how thankful they were to have all that water and I will always remember what “Katie’s Wishing Well” did for those people.

For this random act of kindness, I made spaghetti and garlic bread and took them to my mom’s work, the 67th District Court. I made the lunches for the officers by the metal detector. They were funny, nice when I went to visit my mom. Everyone at the court deserves it. My mom took the lunches in because I had to go to school. Even though I was not there it still made me feel great inside. So, in this story, it wasn’t anything big, just brining a lunch to someone. Who knows, maybe that one lunch could be an awesome gift to brighten up someone’s day. The officers at my mom’s work keep the community and the workers safe. It’s the least I could do to show my appreciation.

This act of kindness was made possible thanks to my overflowing toilet, and the awesome plumber that came to save the day. He did a great job, so I wanted to do something nice for him. He was so nice to my dog too. Sometimes the plumber would stop and say, “Go get your toy!” to my dog, Hayes, and then take a break to play with him. So, this is what I did…

I was sitting on the couch when I heard my mom ask the plumber, “Sir, do you want anything like a coke or water?” And that’s how I got the idea! I rushed into the kitchen and told my mom what I was going to do. She though that it was great and helped me get it ready. I got a plastic baggie, cheese, summer sausage, and crackers. Oh, and I did not forget the Blueberry Card. I made a food basket and then got to see his happy face. It made me feel so good to see that I caused him to have a better day, all from a little work put into a little thought, causing a big effect. Even if you’re not a Blueberry Ambassador, I definitely encourage you to do small acts of kindness. It makes you feel awesome and everyone should feel that way.

When you think of Christmas, you think of presents, right? Well, think about the

people who can’t get presents. That’s where I stepped in. My mom helped a lot with this one, so I give a lot of thanks to her right now. So, my mom works with this lady who has a granddaughter who is around the age of seven. She just recently moved in with her grandma. Now, you’re probably going to ask why I did something for a little girl I do not know. Well, it felt good giving some clothes and toys to her. The clothes do not fit me any longer and I could always donate a couple of toys – I have a ton! So that day, when I thought of this idea, I found a lot of clothes I grew out of or do not like, and put them in a bag. I put the bag by my backpack and told my mom about it when she got home. She was very pleased. The next morning, she took the bag to work. I felt good the rest of the day.

Since I have chickens at my home, I sell eggs. A lady who once had chickens always wonders about my chickens, and buys eggs from me. She saw a bag at a store and thought of me, she gave me the bag that had chickens on it. I loved the bag and thought of a way to pay it back to her. I decided to give her eggs for free. She loved the eggs and the delicious taste that reminded her of her own.

There is a teacher at Thomson Elementary whose class I visit after school. Without her asking, I put her shades down, stack her chairs, and put away her lunch cards. When she walks into the room she tells me what else needs to be done. Every day, I am helping her to achieve her goals.

My mom informed me of a little girl that has no toys at home to play with, so we came up with a plan. I ran to my toys to get a toy that has not been used yet that I don’t need. I told my mom that I am willing to give her a toy of mine. I slid my card in the toy and my mom took the toy to the happy little girl. It felt good to give someone a gift that truly needs it. I could not stop smiling.

When the second batch of snow fell, my dad went outside to shovel the snow and I really do not go outside to do that stuff because it is cold out there. But I know if two people shovel the drive, we would get the job done faster. We got done in 20 minutes and it was not so cold after all.

The second thing I did was for my papa. We went to Lowes and he can’t lift heavy items because he has back problems. He doesn’t let me hold heavy items all the time, but the basket was so heavy that he could not push it. When he popped his back, I did not want him to pop it again, so I took over with the basket.

My mom had 10 dishes upstairs and I really do not like taking the dishes down, but I thought that it would be a good chance to do something nice.

As a Blueberry Ambassador, I chose for one of my random acts of kindness to take

my birthday money and purchase items for the Cool to Care food drive. My mom and I went to Meijer and purchased 135 items to donate. This random act of kindness made me feel good because I was able to help Davison Community Schools provide food to families in need. I did not get to see anyone’s reactions because all items were given to Outreach East who then gave them to the families in need!

Blueberry Moment 9628
As a Blueberry Ambassador, I chose for one of my random acts of kindness was to go and buy Christmas presents for a friend of mine whose family does not have enough money to buy her Christmas presents this year. She was sick on the day I dropped off the presents, but her reaction was quiet and shy oh and smiling. I felt happy and excited to make her smile and make sure that she has an amazing Christmas.

Blueberry Moment 9626
As a Blueberry Ambassador I chose for one of my random acts of kindness was to take cookies to the Davison Paramedics. I chose to do this because they took care of me when I could not breathe and had to go to the hospital. When my mom and I dropped off the cookies the guys that took care of me where not there, but two other guys where there. Their reaction was smiling and grateful. John said “Wow these will definitely get eaten up here.” This made me feel great inside for these amazing people who help us in need!

For one of my small acts of kindness I shoveled my old neighbor’s driveway and made her cookies. I picked to do it to her because she takes care of her granddaughters and is really busy. It made me feel really happy and good to help her do something that I know would be hard for her.

Blueberry Moment 10915
For one of my other acts of kindness I gave a man pushing carts at Kroger hot cocoa and ten donut holes. At first when I stopped him he was mad that I interrupted him, but then he became happy because we gave him hot cocoa and donut holes. Doing this made me feel really good because he looked cold and it would warm him up to have a hot treat.

Blueberry Moment 10916
For my last one, I gave the nice ladies working at Hallmark twenty donut holes. I picked to give them a treat because they are always so helpful. They were so happy they gave me hugs. It made me beam with pride.

My first Blueberry Moment was on a very cold day, I brought the crossing guard hot cocoa. She appreciated it because it helped keep her warm, and it made her smile. My dad and I arrived at Hill Elementary after school one day. We pulled by a stoplight and unrolled the window and handed it to her.

Blueberry Moment 10880
My second Blueberry Moment was when I decided I wanted to do something nice for a child in need. My mom and I went shopping and picked up a new warm winter jacket for a little girl. Then my mom called Outreach East and asked if we could donate it. The next day after school mom and I went to Outreach East and gave the coat to the woman at the center. She was very happy and thought the coat was very pretty and would make a little girl very happy.

Blueberry Moment 10879
My last Blueberry Moment was when I decided to make muffins and give them to my neighbor. She lives alone after her husband died a couple years ago, and I knew that would make her happy. With my mom’s help, I baked chocolate chip muffins and we took them to her. She invited us in, and we stayed and visited for about a half hour.
