BLUEBERRY AMBASSADOR MOMENTS

For my Blueberry Moment, I went to a restaurant and I paid for my family’s dinner. It felt good because I never do that so when I did, I felt so responsible and generous. My parents really appreciated it. When I did that, I felt so proud of myself so I will keep doing good for other people.

Blueberry Moment 14043
A few days ago, I surprised the St. John’s family center with doughnuts. Once I gave them to the director, I explained the Blueberry Ambassador program and then gave her the Blueberry Card.

Drake Allen
Blueberry Moment 14185
I gave my Blueberry Card to Shelly because I helped her in a bowl-a-thon. I think Shelly was happy to have my support.

Blueberry Moment 14184
A family friend, Buggy, was helping some of the neighbors clear out the snow in driveways. I went out to help him remove all the snow. I felt good about helping Buggy and it made the snow clear out a lot faster.

Paige Allis
For my first Blueberry Moment, my soccer team and I adopted a family to give them a big dinner with turkey, corn, and potatoes. We also bought them Christmas presents. It made me so happy.

Blueberry Moment 14127
For my second Blueberry Moment, I made cookies for my dad’s work. I did this because I love my dad so much and I wanted to make him and his crew smile. It made me feel very happy and I had my dad give a Blueberry Card to one of his coworkers.

For my third Blueberry Moment, I decided to go to Carriage Town. We donated some games to the children that stay there. It was really fun to play games with the kids that stay there. I gave my Blueberry Card to a girl named Miracle. All the kids were very happy with all the games that we donated.

The first random act of kindness I did was when my mom and I made zucchini bread to sell at the farmers market. That day when we picked up my grandma, we saw a few elderly people outside and I asked my mom if we could give them some of the bread we made. She said yes and I took some out of the box and gave it to them. They smiled and were happy and said thank you.

On Halloween after trick or treating, my aunt was telling me about how the kids in her classroom didn’t have enough money to get costumes. I thought I should give them my candy. So, after I came home with my bag full of candy, I gave the candy to my aunt to take to school. She thanked me and asked me many times if I was sure I wanted to give it away. I kept telling her yes and it made me happy.

After Thanksgiving, my aunt and uncle came to visit from Chicago for the weekend. My aunt Trish had a bad back and hip and was having a hard time walking so I offered to take her suitcases. When I took them downstairs, she was so grateful and gave me a big hug and kiss.

Blueberry Moment 14016
I have a grandpa that served in the Vietnam war and a great grandfather that served in World War II. I sent them both Veteran’s Day cards and included a personal note to thank them for their service. It made me feel good because they both told me how much it meant to them to receive the cards. I wanted them to know that I was thinking about them.

Blueberry Moment 14017
I picked out some toys to donate to Toys for Tots. I couldn’t imagine that some kids might not be able to get toys for Christmas so it made me feel good to donate toys for these kids and brighten their Christmas. I enjoyed picking out the toys and thinking about how the kids will play with them and enjoy the fun at Christmas.

Blueberry Moment 14018
I shoveled the end of my neighbor’s driveway with my grandmother on February 12. My neighbor’s driveway was done earlier in the da but with the plow that went through our neighborhood, they had a bunch of snowed piled back onto their driveway.

Lily Binkley
I know kindergarteners are crazy sometimes and it’s nice to make someone smile. I was at Thomson Elementary and I put a bag of chocolates in someone’s mailbox and it made me happy.

Shayna Boudagh
I got about nine garbage bags filled with clothes and donated it all to charity. It took me about one year to gather all those clothes and it made me feel so grateful and happy to actually donate them. One act can change someone’s life and make them happier and picturing the smile of the people who will get those clothes made me smile even more.

Cora
For my Blueberry Moment, I went to a person’s house and dropped off  cookies at their front porch. I did this because these people always put up amazing decorations and seeing all of these decorations every year just makes me super happy. I felt super nice to make these people feel happy.

Hailey Bristle
I decided to make cookies on our snow day and give them to my neighbors. My brother also stayed with one of my neighbors for two hours and played board games with her. This made me feel really good and I got to learn more about my neighbors.

Claire Brock
Blueberry Moment 14131
Two days before Christmas, the mailman was delivering some packages in a lot of snow. When he got to the door, I gave him a water bottle and a bag of chips. When I gave him the water and chips, he looked at me a little funny. But then he smiled as big as an ocean and said thank you. It made me feel kind of funny inside but I’m glad I did it.

Tanner Broecker
I helped my little brother do school work for the next day and I helped him with picking out his clothes for the next day also. It made me feel more helpful.

Amaya Caston
My Blueberry Moment is helping kids make friends by writing notes to them and putting the pink notes in their lockers.

When I was outside, I picked up trash for the school and earned Cardinal Code Tickets. When I got the tickets, I gave them to other people so they could get something.

I helped a lady carry her bags of food to the car when she dropped them on the ground.

I stayed and helped clean our classroom at the end of the day.

Olivia Cook
One morning, I asked my mom if I could have McDonald’s before school. She said yes and I told my mom what I wanted and saw there were people behind us. Then, I remembered this is a great opportunity to do an amazing thing. I pulled out a few dollars and told my mom I wanted to pay for the people behind me. I gave my mom the money and the Blueberry Card to give the worker. I was not able to see their reaction, but I know I made a difference.

One day, I was going through my closet while getting ready for school and I thought, I never wear these clothes! That weekend, I spent all day going through my clothes. I filled more a whole garbage bag plus some more clothes to For donate. I gave it to Salvation Army and encouraged my sisters to the same thing. I know I did a good thing. My sister and I went to Salvation Army and I felt so good. I knew I was making a difference even though it was small.

Over the winter break, I did an act of kindness that was sure to make someone’s day. I was in New York City on our way home from dinner. I saw a homeless man sitting there and I decided to simply hand him my food. He started to cry and thanked me. I know that I did the right thing and I feel good about helping.

Natalie Church

Blueberry Moment 14136
For my Blueberry Moment, I paid for someone’s food. I decided to pay for someone’s food because it was a way of telling people that there are nice people in the world that do nice things. I hope the person enjoyed their food. The little things are sometimes what brings joy to people for days and puts a smile on their face. I don’t know how the person reacted to it, but I think the person had a smile on their face and that made the food more enjoyable.

Blueberry Moment 14137
For my Blueberry Moment, I made blankets for Hurley Hospital pediatric unit. It felt

so good to give those blankets to the lady at the desk. I know that the people at the desk really appreciated it. At first, the lady smile and she was happy. She was happy I chose to make blankets for Hurley as my Blueberry Moment. I know I was doing something that can make people happy or a least put a smile on their face for just a little while.

Blueberry Moment 14138
For my Blueberry Moment, I gave someone at Redbox a bag with money in it for snacks so she could enjoy her movie. At first, she didn’t want to take the money. Then I explained to her what a Blueberry

Ambassador is and what we do. After that, she said, thank you and told me that she was picking up her grandchildren the next day and they could enjoy the snacks together. That made me feel fantastic and it made me feel like I was making someone feel good. I could tell that she was thankful and pleased. As I left, I could see a smile on her face. Helping her made me feel good and I think it made her feel good too! This Blueberry Moment made me realize that helping people can have an impact on the people you’re helping as well as an impact on you from a different point of view. Happiness is the impact.

Morgan Clark
I went to Meijer with hand warmers and gave them to a person who was working out in the cold and bringing in carts. I decided to do this because it was very cold outside and I felt bad for the people working outside. When I gave the hand warmers to the person, he thanked me and it made me feel good to help him.

Kelli Currell
Blueberry Moment 14167
I wrote a kindness note and went to a store. I also brought a Blueberry Card and tape. Then on a ball, I taped the note and Blueberry Card onto it. I did this because of what we are doing in school and writing notes of kindness.

For my random act of kindness, I decided to put five dollars on a gas pump at

speedway with my Blueberry Card. This made me feel excited and happy. I couldn’t wait for some who is so cold pumping gas to get this surprise. I think it made them super happy.

I went to Tim Horton’s and paid for the car behind me. I hope that person ad a great start to their day by not having to pay for their coffee or breakfast. It made me feel happy to know I could make someone’s morning a little better.

Sydney Dean
On January 6, I went to Salvation Army for my Blueberry Moment. I donated children’s toys and clothes. I was looking for ideas and I saw from my mom that Salvation Army was in desperate need of toys and clothes. They had given everything to the children that endured Hurricane Harvey and I had a bunch of what they needed. I wanted to donate to help kids that went through a natural disaster. The guy at Salvation army look surprised and happy that I donated so much and it made me happy that I helped out kids in need.

Jayden Dixon
I gave away some of my shoes to an orphanage. I was happy even though I didn’t get to see their faces.

Lauren Farrer
Blueberry Moment 14126

For my first Blueberry Moment, I decided to bake chocolate chip cookies and give them to my mom’s work. I baked the cookies and put a little red bow on the lid of the container that they were in. My mom works at Genesys Hillside Center as a therapist. When we arrived at her work, the front desk ladies were so happy to see that I brought in a sweet treat. I gave my Blueberry Card to the front desk lady, Tracy. I went throughout the whole main office asking if they wanted a cookie. We also went throughout the building to others wo didn’t get one and who weren’t busy. It put a smile on my face to see smiles on other peoples faces when they got done. I put the rest in the lounge for other people we couldn’t get to.

Blueberry Moment 14125
For my second Blueberry Moment, I decide to go to Carriage Town Ministries. A group of Blueberry Ambassadors that I know went with my mom and I to the women and children’s building and brought board games, hula hoops, and a couple other different games. There were a few kids and some adults. We spent a couple hours there, playing with the kids. Watching these kids play and be so happy when they may not have a home ore have enough money to buy meals and be happy, made me happy. When I saw that, I knew how lucky I am to have a home and meals. I gave my Blueberry Card to a young boy name Leonard. He has health problems and he was the best at matching games and no one could beat him!

For my third Blueberry Moment, I decided to give a gift to my teachers. In gift bags, I put a white marbled mug, their favorite candy, and their favorite coffee. March 5, I gave the gifts to them. They all smiled really wide! They were all wondering why I gave the gifts to them. I told them it was for one of my Blueberry Moments!

Riley Fox
My first Blueberry Moment was I paid for the person behind me at Tim Horton’s. The reason I did this because I was thinking about the time that I went to Chicago and there was a bunch of homeless people and I felt bad for them. The way I felt was that I was giving back to Davison and families. I know that it will make their day.

Aiden Freeman
Blueberry Moment 13960
I brought a blue bin with Doritos, blueberry muffins, hand warmers, Almond Joys, hot chocolate, and Lifesavers to the Davison Police Department. I chose to bring the police officers these treats to thank them for protecting us. I gave the treats that were blue because I am a Blueberry Ambassador. I felt good because I got to thank the police officers for what they’ve done. Officer Payer talked with me about staying in school and what I wanted to be when I grow up. He said all the officers will eat the treats even though they don’t need the extra calories.

Blueberry Moment 13961
I brought lemon bars to a neighbor who is an old man across the street. I brought the treats over the first time and he thought I was selling them and I told him I didn’t want any money. He closed the door but my mom talked to the man’s son and told him I was trying to be nice and bring him treats. I chose to bring the man treats because he has helped to snow blow our driveway before and he is always nice to me.

Blueberry Moment 13962
I cleaned out my closet and put together the extra clothes that I don’t need. I donated them to the elementary school I used to attend for the kids that ruin on their shirts somehow. It makes me feel good to do this for other kids. I’m sure they’ll be happy to not have to wear a dirty shirt.

Lainey Frost
My Blueberry Moment was when my grandpa, grandma and I went to the store and got blankets and food. We packed it into a box and sent it to the homeless shelter. After I did that, it made me feel happy when I saw the people’s face light up.

Olivia Gartrell
Blueberry Moment 14049

I drive by the crossing guard everyday with my mom or on my bus. I see them out on the freezing cold days and when it’s raining or snowing. I think they do a lot for our community to keep kids safe. It made me feel happy, joyful and proud that I did something nice for someone else.

Blueberry Moment 14050
I made little packages that had a coffee cup with coffee grains so they could make a hot cup of coffee and had warmers. I also wrote a thank you note and attached a Blueberry Card. They both smiled and gave me a hug and I think it brightened their day.

Blueberry Moment 14051
I see the lunch ladies everyday making meals for us and since it was Christmas time, I never see them getting any gifts so I decided to make them a care package. In the package, I put a coffee cup with candy inside and a flower. I made one for each of the lunch ladies and put it in a basket and made a card with the Blueberry Card. It made me feel happy and proud that I could do something nice for someone else. They smiled and said it made their week and I almost started to cry.

Rylee Gipson
Blueberry Moment 14019
I had my dad take me to the animal shelter and I dropped off food blankets and treats. It made me feel great knowing that I was helping out other animals that need food and shelter. I know that if I was an animal, that I would feel great having food that some animals cant have in the world because they don’t have a home.

Blueberry Moment 14020
I was coming home from karate class and I saw an old man sitting on the side of the road, holding a sign. I decided to give him the food that I had because I was not hungry at the moment. I gave him my food from McDonalds. He smiled when I gave him the food and said thank you so much. Most people would have just drove by me and did nothing. It made me feel like an amazing person, knowing that I am helping out somebody in the world by giving them food.

Blueberry Moment 14021
I got my teacher a basket of cookies that I made with flowers and a balloon saying that she’s the best. It made me feel good knowing that I am making my teacher happy. When she smiled and said thank you, it made me feel so good. I’m going to enjoy these every morning with breakfast even though that’s not healthy. It made me feel good knowing that I’m doing something good for my teacher and I know that she enjoyed something that I made her.

Abbegail Gratsch
When me and my brother were out shoveling our driveway, we decided to go out beyond our house and shovel our neighbor’s driveway. When I finished, I felt that we should start doing this more often. The feeling I felt was so good that I can’t even describe it. It was also a good bonding experience for me and my brother. I would love to do it again.

Megan Gray
Blueberry Moment 13964
I went to dinner with my family after my basketball game. I saw a family with two little boys that were behaving very well. I thought that they should have a treat for behaving so well, so I bought them ice cream with my own money. I asked my waiter to surprise the little boys. When the waiter gave the little boys their ice cream, they were surprised and happy. The parents read them the Blueberry Card and then the boys ate their ice cream. It made me feel so happy and joyful to see the little boys eat their ice cream and to teach the little boys the importance of good behavior at a restaurant.

Blueberry Moment 13965
Normally, my grandma cooks dinner by herself for family birthday dinners. I really wanted to do something special with her and to help her. So, I decided to help cook my sister, Amber’s, birthday dinner with her. I thought it would be nice to help grandma and it would be a gift from me too. We let her choose what she wanted for dinner and she chose English muffin pizzas and salad. I had a nice time cooking with my grandma, I learned some new cooking things, and everyone loved the food. Grandma was excited to get the Blueberry Card and I plan to help her use it when she pays it forward.

Blueberry Moment 13966
When my mom, sister, and I were going to my grandparent’s house, we stopped at Tim Hortons. The last time we were at Tim Hortons, someone paid for our order, so I wanted to pay it forward with the Blueberry Card for someone else by paying for the person behind us. I though this could make someone’s day. My mom asked the cashier to hand the Blueberry Card to the next car and I used my allowance to pay for their order. The cashier knew about the Blueberry Ambassador program which was really cool. I felt that I was a good friend and I hope that person was happy.

Blueberry Moment 14012
My first Blueberry Moment was giving my mailman some Christmas cookies. I put the cookies in a box and then put it in the mailbox. I also put a card in the box thanking him for all that he has done. I did not get to see his expression, but I think it put a smile on his face. It made me feel good to do something nice for him.

Blueberry Moment 14010
For my second Blueberry Moment, I gave away toe warmers to Time Square Riding Academy. I did this because as a rider, I know what it is like to be in a cold barn. The instructor, Paula, was very surprised and happy to get the toe warmers. It felt really good to give the toe warmers to the cold riders.

Blueberry Moment 14011
For my last Blueberry Moment, I donated books. I didn’t see any reactions but I am guessing that the people that get the books will feel great. I did this because I love the feeling of getting new books, so why not give them that feeling? I felt really good giving those books away to people who want to sit down and read a good story.

Jordynn Grimsley
My first Blueberry Moment was when I had a bike at my house that used to be my little brother’s. My neighbor, Emmet, didn’t have a bike. So, I asked my nana if I could give him my brother’s old bike. She said, “Yes, you can. He would love that” The bike was ripped so I fixed it up and put some colored duct tape on it. Them, I walked it over to Emmet’s house and knocked on the door. Emmet answered the door and I said, “Emmet, do you want this bike because my brother got a new one.” Emmet was so excited and thanked me many times! It made me feel happy inside that I did a good deed for my neighbor and it made him so happy.

One day, my nana asked if I could get her trash cans for her. I went and got the trash cans and I thought that maybe I should go get my neighbor’s trash cans too. I went and got my neighbors trash cans and brought them to their house.

When I was walking into school, there was a girl that had dropped all her stuff out of her backpack. It was blowing all over the place, so I went and caught all the stuff that was blowing away. Then, I helped her put it all back in her backpack. Then I held the door for her.

Heavens Gurrola
I helped someone out when they were getting bullied by a girl who did not like them. Then, I reported it to the office and they settled it. It was at our school on the playground.

Blueberry Moment 13966
I chose to do a little surprise for my mom. I made her a drawing. She loved it and then I gave her the Blueberry Card right along with it. I chose to do this for my mom because she is very hard working and needed a gift to let her know that she is awesome. I felt really good making her happy.

Blueberry Moment 13967
For my next random act of kindness, I wanted to do something for the children at the hospital. We bought coloring books and crayons from the store to donate to the children’s emergency room at Hurley. I wanted to do something nice for the hospital because the kids are sick and I wanted to give them something fun to do. I loved donating and turning kids’ days around. The nurses were very happy with the gift.

Blueberry Moment 13968
For my last random act of kindness, I chose to bring a snack to the vet. My dog, Bob, has cancer and they have been taking good care of him. He went to the vet recently because you could tell that he was not feeling good. I decided to tag along and bring donuts for the veterinarians just to thank them for helping my dog. I felt really good giving the treat to them and I’m pretty sure they felt happy too. They thanked me and I thanked them. I really am glad that I had this opportunity to thank the veterinarians.

Emily Harvey
Blueberry Moment 14034
For my Blueberry Moment, I bought a little girl some cotton candy. My dad is a Shriner and worked at the Shrine Circus. A little girl wanted cotton candy and her parents didn’t have enough, so I used my money to buy her some. I chose to do this because she really wanted it. It made me feel happy. The little girl was so happy and cheerful. Her parents said thank you and walked back to their seats.

Blueberry Moment 14035

I went to McDonalds and bought a gift card for five dollars. I went over to some teenage girls who were eating there, and gave them the Blueberry Card. I felt really happy after I did. They were very happy and thankful. I did this because they didn’t do anything to deserve it so it was a surprise. I also told them what the card was for and one of their brothers was also a Blueberry Ambassador.

Blueberry Moment 14036
I asked my neighbor if he needed help shoveling his driveway. When I did, I felt like I made a change in his life. I feel like he felt like he was helped and we were both happy.

Bella Hinkley

Blueberry Moment 13970
For my first Blueberry Moment, I bought some blueberry muffins and a pineapple for Frida who is an elderly lady who lives down the street from us. Frida is a sweet 90 year-old lady and I wanted to surprise her with some treats. It made me feel happy to do this because I did something nice for someone else. It made her feel really happy.

Blueberry Moment 13971
For my Blueberry Moment, I made 26 toiletry kits to donate to the fire station. Sometimes, people have house fires and are not able to stay in their houses. This happened to my dad when he was younger. One of the things people don’t think about when you lose everything is what you absolutely need like soap, shampoo and a toothbrush right away. We made these kits so the fire department can help people be more comfortable when they have to spend a nice somewhere because they cant stay in their own house anymore. I was able to get Dr. Schwartz to donate toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss. Our family bought shampoo, conditioner, soap, combs, and deodorant. We even put a small toy in some kits for kids to help them feel more comfortable. I hope that these little kits are something that will help people feel a little better when they aren’t able to stay in their house if there is a fire. It felt good providing these kits to the fire department.

Blueberry Moment 13972
I took some blueberry muffins and pineapple to our next-door neighbors, the Harbins. The Harbins are an elderly couple who never had kids of their own and so they don’t have grandkids. I thought it would be nice for them to have something a grandkid would do for them. It made me very happy and they liked it a lot. They were happy that I wasn’t selling something.

Thomas Hoffa
Blueberry Moment 14089
My Blueberry Moment was going through the McDonalds drive thru and paying fo the people’s order behind us with my allowance money. When we looked back at the car behind us, the man looked curious and surprised. It made me feel good inside.

Blueberry Moment 14090
My Blueberry Moment was helping an elderly man stack chairs at the VFW for our Cub Scout Crossover Ceremony. Nobody was helping him so my dad and I stacked the chairs for him. He seemed to be happy and relieved for the help. It made me happy to make him happy.

Blueberry Moment 14091
I helped shovel my neighbor’s driveway. I chose to do this because it looked like there was a lot of snow and he could use the help. It made me feel good inside and it also made me feel happy. The recipient said thank you and seemed to appreciate the help.

Cole Houser
On a cold winter day, I saw a disabled man with a self-rolling wheelchair. So, I decided to open the door for him and he told me thank you. I was really proud.

One day, I saw a lot of trash around the neighborhood. Plastic bottles and bags were everywhere. So, I decided to clean everyone’s yard.

One day, when I was at Disney, I saw a mother with two baby strollers and a toddler and I was sitting down in a booth so I let the family sit down and they really appreciated it. My heart is very prideful for doing those things.

Lillian Morey

Blueberry Moment 14003
For my Blueberry Moment, I packed bibles, wipes, pads, tampons, and deodorant in a box and sent it to the soldiers on duty. I decided to do this for my Blueberry Moment because my dad was in the army, so it got me thinking of what I can do to help them in their situation. It mad me feel good to do this.

Blueberry Moment 14002
For my second Blueberry Moment, I helped poor families. I did this by working with a group at a local church by putting together bags full of stuff that people would need. First, I got a list, each family had a list with the items that they needed checked off. Then, I would have to go to the supply closet and get the supplies to put in the grocery bags. Finally, my brothers would take the bags and give it to the people who organized them for when the people came to pick it up. When I did this, I felt good because I had the privilege to help other people.

For my last Blueberry Moment, I gave a few tickets to a family when I went to the arcade at Great Lakes Crossing. This was important to me because I have been that person who was missing 20 or so tickets from getting what I really wanted. Doing this, made me feel really good.

Sarah Murawski
My first Blueberry Moment was when my friend was having a rough day. I waited for her to pick me up to go to swim practice and I brought my friend and her mom some cookies I made them to make them feel better. They both looked really happy and I was just happy to help. When I experienced this feeling of helping people, I felt like I wanted to do more random acts of kindness.

Blueberry Moment 14068
What I did for my second Blueberry Moment was helped my dad with cans and exchanged the cans for money. Later that day, I went to Christian Services and donated the money to them to keep the people warm and they can buy new clothes for them. It made me feel good inside and I know the money will help.

Blueberry Moment 14069
I decided to go through Tim Hortons drive thru and buy the person behind us a meal. We ended up watching the person find out and she looked happy and that made me happy because I love to see other people happy, especially when its caused by me. I bet right now that she will never forget about not having to pay for her food and I was the one to pay for it.

Blueberry Moment 13981

I delivered 94 pounds of dog food, five 15 feet tie-outs, and five collars to the Greater Flint Dog Outreach. I donated these because I was looking into the Greater Flint Dog Outreach, and learned that they go around Flint giving chained0up dogs better living conditions, which inspired me to help them. They go around and put straw in these dogs’ tie-out spaces and doghouses, replace chains with tie-outs so they have place to roam, give them food and water, clear out snow in their areas, and even give doghouses to dogs with no shelter. They also work with the owners by trying to educate them on better care for their dogs. The people running the Outreach Center were so thankful for our donation and even posted a thank-you on their Facebook page. They were so appreciative for what we donated. Since this donation, my mom and I were inspired to help the dogs even more by donating fleece coats to protect the dogs from the freezing temperatures. I chose to do this because many people believe that if the dog has an owner, it is okay. But that’s not always the case because some owners see their dog as an ‘outside dog’ and they leave them tied up in the snow with no shelter or food and no other option besides waiting and hoping for help. The dogs can’t run off to find shelter or food if they are tied up in their backyard. Most of the dogs they find and help are pit bulls and their fur is too thin to withstand the freezing temperatures outside. They are dedicated to making change, one forgotten dog at a time. And as us Blueberries know, affecting one life (whether it is a person or an animal) can truly make a difference.

Blueberry Moment 13982
I bought three bags of dog food at Doogie’s Dollar Store adding up to 20 dollars to be sent to Kreacher Konnections, which is a no-kill rescue group that saves animals and encourages spaying and neutering. I decided to do this because there are far too many pets out in the cold, not able to take care of themselves and their young. Kreacher Knnections saves those poor animals that are out in the cold, scared, and unknowing of how they will help their young survive. They definitely don’t deserve this horrible fate. Instead of sulking around the house every time this thought comes to mind, I did something to change their fate. Maybe it didn’t mean anything in the world, but I know it meant the world to that animal being saved. Also, if the Kreacher Konnection staff doesn’t have a problem with supplying food, they can expand the possibilities even further than they already have. It would really lift a lot of stress of these amazing peoples’ shoulders. Knowing I am helping these amazing people just warms my heart. I hope the Kreacher Konnections staff loves what I did. Of course, I am not sure how they will because the food and card were to be sent there. I hope that this goes to show them that I truly appreciate what they do! It made me feel amazing doing this, even just to think that I could do something to help this world out a little because every little bit counts.

Blueberry Moment 13983
I decided to make and give the Davison Township police a Smile Jar. I wrote out 120 individual compliments and cheery quotes for the policemen. I put them in a large jar with a bunch of Hershey Kisses. I then put a label on it that said, ‘Smile Jar: Take One’ and drew a big smile on the jar. I chose to do this act because I wanted to make sure their services were appreciated since they do so much for us. They are the ones working hard to make sure we feel safe and comfortable in our community. Once I took it to the police station, I went up to the front desk and they introduced me to Officer Payne. I gave him the jar and a Blueberry Card. He gladly appreciated the act and said he has heard of the Blueberry Ambassadors before. It’s amazing how our acts pass along so quickly. Afterward, I felt happy to know I helped make Officer Payne, and soon the rest of the police station, happy. I also felt accomplished to know I helped make the world a better place because it’s those little random acts of kindness that can really help lift a spirit.

In January, I helped my mom look for groceries and I found pita bread and pepper. When I got home, I put the groceries away. Then, I made cinnamon rolls for my sister and brother for breakfast. My mom, brother, and sister said thank you and were happy that I did that for them.

A girl in my class gave me an invitation to her birthday party. The party was scheduled for Saturday, January 27. When she gave me the invitation, she told me that she did not think anyone was going to come except her family. I felt sad about this because I saw her hand out a lot of invitations, practically to everybody in the class. I took the invitation home and looked at it with my grandma. The birthday party was over 70 miles away and it was just too far to go to. Saturday came and I felt really bad that I could not go. I kept thinking about what she said. I wanted to do something for her so I decided to give her a card and birthday money. On Tuesday, when we went back to school, I gave her the card and money. I also gave her a wrapped present. She said, “Thank you so much.” She gave me a big hug. She liked the card and the money. She unwrapped her other present and thought it was a bracelet. We both laughed. She seemed very happy. I asked her how the party went and she said hardly anyone came. I gave her the Blueberry Card and explained what it was. I told her that this is an act of kindness that I did for you because I felt bad I couldn’t come to her party. I felt very happy giving her the card, money, and present. It felt good to do something nice for someone else.

I put a backpack together with the following items: two cans of pop, two bags of chips, one can of Pringles, two boxes of granola bars, one can of Ravioli, one fruit cup, a tube of tooth paste, and a toothbrush. The next day, my grandma and I drove over to Center Road by the I69 East expressway exit. We parked across the street and walked across the busy road. We walked over there because there was a homeless man standing at the exit asking drivers for donations to help him. We walked up to him and introduced ourselves and told him about me being a Blueberry Ambassador. My grandma told the man that we saw him standing there a lot of times and that I picked him to do something good for. She told him how I wanted to give him the backpack with the snacks in it along with some of my Christmas money. We handed him the backpack, ten dollars, and a twenty-dollar gift card to Meijer. We also gave him a Blueberry Card. He said he would try to pass it on. He was so happy and couldn’t believe it. He was very thankful. We shook his hand and hugged him. I felt so sad for him and it made me grateful about all the things that I have. I was so happy that I did this. I wanted to do something to help him even if it was small.

On a cold winter day, my friend and I went to see my friend, Lexi’s neighbor and we saw some shovels in her garage. We started to shovel her driveway. When we were done, she was headed out to shovel but she didn’t know we had already done it. When we were playing outside, she saw us and wondered if we did her driveway. We told her yes, we did it and she said thank you. When she went inside, I ran up and rang her doorbell. When she saw the Blueberry Card I put on her porch, she smiled. Later that day, we went over and saw if she needed anything else. She told us no. Inside I felt happy and grateful for the things I can do for others. I’m sure she felt great inside too.

Blueberry Moment 14149
When I went to a soccer game, I was in the parking lot and I saw an old lady drop her purse. I went over and asked if she wanted help and she said yes please. When I put it all on her car seat, I remembered that I had a card in the back of my phone. When I was putting all the stuff on her seat, I snuck a card on her seat. After I told her to have a good rest of the day, I went inside. I waited in the lobby as she was putting it all back into her purse, when she saw the card, she smiled. I could tell she was so happy. I went to the field and was so happy doing that little thing made my day and I know that it made the old lady’s day too. The small things in life can be a huge change to this world.

My next-door neighbor had a stroke and can’t get around well. One day, I went over and picked up his trash cans. That same day, I took cookies over to him because they were extra from the day before and I went over, rang his doorbell, and put a card on top of the cookies with a little note to say hi. He came out and grabbed the stuff and looked all around to see if I was there but I was in a bush where he would not see me. He just smiled. I felt good and happy inside and I know he did too. He came to my house the next day thanking us and saying how happy he was.

I gave the person behind me five dollars at Biggby Coffee. I decided to do it because I thought it would be nice to help someone. When I gave it to him I had a big smile on my face and so did he. He then paid for the person behind him.

Blueberry Moment 12917
I gave something to the firefighters. In a bag, I put three different kinds of candy. On the bag, I put, ‘Hugs and Kisses! P.S. you’re a life saver.” Even though the firefighters weren’t there, the girl there said, “I know that they will love it.” It felt really good to give the treat to them because they work so hard and I really appreciate their work.

Blueberry Moment 12918
For my final Blueberry Moment, I gave the military two care packages. One package had female personal products, treats and food, and the other had male personal products and treats and food. I decided to do it because many of my family members have been in the military. I don’t know how they reacted but I think they would be very thankful. This mad e a big impact on me because I realized that what I was doing was helping someone who protects and serves our country every day. I am so thankful for our military.

My sister and I went to a soup kitchen and we made food for the homeless. There were ten of us all making the food. We made 150 lunch sacks in all. In the lunch sacks were two sandwiches, chips, cheese, canned fruit, animal crackers, granola bars, a lollipop and a mint. After we made the lunch bags, we went to give the homeless. They loved the lunch that we made then. Seeing all the people happy made me feel happy. To see the food that we gave them and see how they appreciated the food made me feel so happy inside.

Blueberry Moment 14058
We went to a school and danced for the kids at the school. We got Mexican treats for the kids to eat. After the dance, my mom and I passed out the traditional Mexican treats. I gave a speech introducing the Blueberry Ambassador program and what we do. I left a Blueberry Card so their group could discuss and decided a good deed they could do too. After I was done with the speech, they said thank you for the treats. They loved the treats and I felt good giving the treats to the kids.

Blueberry Moment 14060
I gave a bag of supplies to a homeless man. The man stands at the corner of the I-475 highway and Robert T. Longway. I supplied the bag with cookies, applesauce, orange cups, protein bars, popcorn, water, water supplements, a new blanket, and five dollars. I handed him the bag from outside of our car window. He thanked me and walked over to the fence of the highway, sat down and looked through the bag. My mom and I circled around in the car and noticed that he stood up at the corner while eating the applesauce. It made me feel so good that I helped someone in need.

With the amount of snowfall we have had and the frigid temperature, I thought what a better way to help out than to offer to shovel driveways? I went house to house almost every day for weeks shoveling the community’s driveways. I never realized how much of an impact this would have on the community especially on those who may be older and have a difficult time bearing the heavy cold snow.  I enjoy doing this for them. It makes me feel good inside.

I provided valentine stickers to the girl talk club for people who are in the hospital to be able to receive nicely decorated Valentine’s Day cards. At first, the news of someone being in the hospital on Valentine’s Day saddening. However, being able to possibly put a smile on someone’s face act of kindness meet moment you’re more special knowing that it would make him feel better even if only for small moment of time.

I donated a case of water to the gym so that the girls would not be thirsty after or during class.

I gave flowers to our neighbor out of gratitude for telling me and my twin sister there

is no school this morning. Flowers were originally meant for the administration of the school, however since it was no school, I gave them to the neighbor who informed me. The neighbor happens to be a teacher so that worked out well. I was happy to be able to make her feel good.

I gather together all of my grandmas letters from Christmas and took all the return addresses and put them into a notebook. Then from there, I organize a return addresses in alphabetical order. I organized them so that grandma would be able to find  all her friends and family members’ addresses in a notebook. I knew that I could get it done faster if I did it for her. Once I handed her the notebook, with the Blueberry Card, her reaction made my day. I was so happy that she finally got her notebook. It was actually quite fun to explain the Blueberry program. I am so glad that I did that for my grandma and I felt really good after it.

My next-door neighbor is an elder and I hate how a lot of people just walk past them that are young and capable of helping them out. I asked my mom if I could go outside to shovel my neighbor’s driveway. She said yes, but only for one hour. After that, I went to my garage, got the shovel and when I came back inside the house, I put on my snow gear. I went out through my front door and I walked to my neighbor’s house. Then, I started from the bottom to the top of the driveway. He came outside a little bit after I started on the driveway and asked me if I wanted any help. I declined nicely because I was almost done anyways. I finished within that ten minutes, set the Blueberry Card on his porch and went back home.

Blueberry Moment 14192
My dad and I went to Speedway so we could put gas in my mom’s car. As we were getting ready to go, a lady came out of the store with her hands full and she had a kid on the right side of her. I felt bad for her because she had no help. So, I asked my dad if I could go help her. He let me but he accompanied me. I asked her nicely if she wanted any help, she took a second and then agreed. So, I started to pump her gas for her until it was done. She thanked me. Then, I handed her my Blueberry Card.

I donated toys to Toys for Tots. I donated one full box of toys. I did it because I knew they needed it and I could help. After we dropped off the bod, I felt super good. I knew it made them as happy as me.

Blueberry Moment 13986
I shoveled a driveway on the street I live on. I did it because I knew it would make me feel good. After I did it, I felt really good. I hope it made them feel good too.

Blueberry Moment 13984
I went to McDonald’s and bought the meal for the person behind us. I did it because it’s what Blueberries do. It made me feel good and it made them feel good.

I stayed up until 10:30 helping my brother with ratios because he was very worried about his grades and did not understand them. He felt very happy and he could not wait to go to school and show his teacher. The next day, he did much better in math. I felt so good inside and it felt like something that I want to feel every day.

This weekend, my family watched my cousin’s dog, Juno since they were at a hockey

tournament. They were happy to see her again today and not to pick her up from a vet.

My mom and I babysat a family friend. We took care of him for almost a day while his mom was at a funeral. We had fun.

On a Friday morning, we let my dogs out and they started barking. My nana looked outside and a bird was sitting on our fence. We immediately too it in and took care of it. We gave it water and food and a towel. We luckily found his parents the same day.

Kennedy Iddins
I decided to adopt a family from Outreach East. I decided to do this after I saw the program in the newspaper a few weeks before Christmas. It made me feel so good when I got to give kids in need Christmas presents.

I gave a lady money at the mall. She ran up to us and she could not talk and she said, “Do you guys have 25 cents?” My mom said of course and we gave her the money. Then she ran right over to the gumball machine. She bought herself a gumball but the silly thing was that she was an adult.

My final Blueberry Moment was when I was on my way to Applebee’s and I saw a car sitting on the side of the road when it was pitch black outside. So, we pulled over to the car to see if they were okay and they were stuck in the ditch. We called 911 and they came right away.

I have been noticing that my teacher was always sharpening pencils but she didn’t have an electric sharpener. I told my mom my idea and we went to the store. I bought a sharpener for my teacher and some pre-sharpened pencils. It felt good to help my teacher and I know that the sharpener will help her in the future.

Blueberry Moment 13909
I went through my clothes, coats, and boots, bought some gloves and then donated them all to Foster Closet of Michigan. My mom did help by buying some tennis shoes, underwear and personal care items. The Foster Closet of Michigan is a place where foster parents can get items they need for their foster children. I liked helping the Foster Closet because it made me feel good inside and I knew that I was helping families.

Blueberry Moment 13910
On a day I had off from school for intersession, I went over to the school my mom works at and helped four teachers in their classrooms. I sorted mail, organized books and articles, and listened to a first grade student read. It was rewarding t help teachers in their classrooms. I appreciate how hard teachers work to prepare classrooms and teach so many kids.

I made ten chocolate covered strawberries and gave them to my teachers. This made me feel really good inside and that I did something good.

I made a picture for my older brother and sent a dog bone for his dog. He lives in Texas and was homesick so I made the picture for him and sent him a Blueberry Card too.

I sent a box of Kleenex and some gum along with my Blueberry Card to one of my mom’s employees. She had called in for a sick day the day before and I thought she would like to have something to cheer her up. This Blueberry Moment impacted me because when I feel sick, I know that I feel miserable and like no one wants to put up with me so I wanted my mom’s employee to feel she is appreciated at her work.

Blueberry Moment 13907
With the help of my mom, I was able to pay it forward at Taco Bell by paying for the food of the customer behind us. We went through the drive thru. We told the worker that we wanted to pay for the person in line behind us and asked her to give him the Blueberry Card. I wanted to do this because I thought it would be a good way to spread kindness. We could not see how the person reacted because of the vehicle’s tinted windows. It made me feel good that we were able to help someone out.

Blueberry Moment 13906
I folded a basket full of clean clothes for my mom. It felt really good because I love folding laundry and it felt really good doing it for someone I love. She was thankful.

Blueberry Moment 13905
I decided I wanted to leave a kind note in a library book for someone to find. I chose to do this because I thought about how happy I would be to find a note like this in one of my library books. I hope that my kind words will make someone’s day better, cheer them up and make them want to do something nice for someone else.

Sophia Knack
I went shopping with my mom. We went to Aldi’s. A lady was collecting the boxes, so I started collecting empty boxes and gave them to her. It was fun and it made me feel like I made a change in the world. I did this because it looked like she was struggling.

I donated my very favorite and very special clothes to a children’s homeless shelter where I also volunteered for three days. I did this because I felt like I just won something big like the lottery.

I volunteered at the Davison Senior Center. I felt good about making these actions. This was a very fun and exciting experience. I had lots of fun and will probably go back again one day.

Blueberry Moment 13978
I decided to make a basket full of cookies and chocolates for a neighbor. I did this because I like to bake and I love to do things that are nice for other people. I did this at a house in the front of my neighborhood and I had no idea who it was. An old man answered the door and it made me happy to see the smile on his face. I handed him the Blueberry Card and explained the whole program. He replied with much appreciation and said thank you many times. This made me feel very good inside and made me just want to keep doing it every day.

Blueberry Moment 13979
I found someone at a nursing home my grandpa goes to. I put together a basket of a little kitten stuffed animal, soaps, and candles that my mom found as we were

cleaning out our hallway closet and also some little bath scrubs. I found the person to give it to as she was wheeling my grandpa in a wheelchair. Her face lit up in a smile and so did mine. She asked me some questions about the Blueberry program. She said thank you many times. I told her thank you for helping out all these people. In my head, I thought sometimes your job can be tough!

Blueberry Moment 13980
I decided to do something nice for my Blueberry coordinator. I thought that she deserved something for all that she does. My mom and I found a basket and a candle and some other sweet treats. When we knocked on her door, my face was lit up with a smile but I was a little nervous. She wasn’t home but her husband was very nice and let us come in. Then I found out that she was going to be there in five minutes so my stomach calmed down. When she walked in the door, she smiled brightly and said, “Is this for me? Thank you!” I felt so happy when I got in the car and my heart was filled with joy.

I gave away two candy bars with a note that said for free for anyone having a rough day.

When my friend was sad, I bought him his favorite beverage.

Blueberry Moment 14154
My mom and I went downtown and we helped a group called Helping Each other – Flint Strong which feed and provides need items to those in need. We helped them by giving their box of donations to the homeless. We donated blessing bags that consisted of blankets, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, face wash, socks, gloves, deodorant, and floss. I put my Blueberry Card in one of the blessing bags. I hope it made their day to receive the blessing bags just like it mad mine to put them together. I hope that when the person that got my cards gets back on their feet, they will be able to do something for someone else and pass the card on.

Blueberry Moment 14155

My family and I went to the assisted living center that our great aunt, who recently turned 85, lives in. She complains about being cold all the time, so I decided to make her a fleece tie blanket and give to her to keep her warm. She was so happy and loved the blanket so much. She smiled really big when I gave it to her. It makes me feel good knowing that she will be able to keep warm because of something I did for her. She has a big heart and I know that she will pay it forward and show and act of kindness to someone at the home she lives in.

Blueberry Moment 14156
I made a gift bag for our mail person. I put a Starbucks gift card, Merci chocolate, a thank you card and a Blueberry Card in it. The mail people do so much for us with little thanks. They deliver our mail in the rain and in the snow and many other bad weather conditions. They don’t get thanked for any of that and I wanted to make sure that our mail person got thanked. I hope that his brightened their day a little bit in such gloomy weather. It brightened mine to know that I might have made someone else’s day a little better and let them know they are appreciated.

Alex Martinez
I decided that I would do something nice for the mail carrier that delivers to my subdivision. I decided to do if for her because I feel that she does a very important job for the community. I put a box of chocolates in the mailbox and a week later, to show her gratefulness, she gave my brother and I each a painted rock with positive quotes on them.

I decided to shovel my entire driveway for my dad so he didn’t have to and I didn’t quit or give up until it was done. My dad was grateful and I felt good about doing it.

I decided to make breakfast for my whole family of four. Since I love to cook and bake, it wasn’t much trouble. My family was grateful and they ate my whole breakfast which made me feel good because I know that they like it. I felt really good about this Blueberry Moment.

Caydence Massimino
I adopted a family at the FIA. I had five kids to shop for. They all asked for toys but I got them clothes too.

I went to Tim Hortons on a freezing cold day and I got two coffees that were piping hot. I have them to the crossing guards.

I went to the mall with my friend and her mom. A girl that could not talk came up to us and asked for 25 cents. My mom’s friend said yes and she was happy as can be.

Blueberry Moment 13911
I went to the Shrine Circus with some friends to volunteer and od some community service. My friend and I went out to sell coloring books for four dollars. We decided to give one lucky person a coloring book that was signed by all the clowns. When we got to the customer, they didn’t have enough money. So they said they couldn’t afford it. It was a family of four children. We decided to give the coloring book to them for free. They were completely shocked that they had that coloring book and that wasn’t even the best part. When we said that all the clowns had signed the book, she had a smile I would never forget. It was an amazing feeling. I couldn’t describe it at first because I was so shocked at that reaction, it warmed my heart. That was definitely a moment in my life I will never forget and always remember.

Blueberry Moment 13912
When I was in the car ride home from school, my mom said that a Davison cross walker was in the hospital because he had the flu really bad. I felt bad for him and then she said that they would allow you to take cards to the office and tell them they are for Mr. Mike. I thought instead of just giving him a card, let’s give him a goody bag. So, we started by making him cards. My three siblings pitched in and also made him cards. Then, we went to the store and bought him all kinds of stuff like popcorn, protein bars, some Gatorade, gum, candy, and a tropical smoothie gift card. I wanted to make him smile with all the little things that were in the bag. We came home and placed it all in a bag and made it look nice. The next day, I took it to my office and it was delivered to him at the hospital. My hopes are the cards and bag of goodies made him feel special and helped him recover more quickly. He gives back to the community and has inspired me to do the same.

Blueberry Moment 13913
I helped my dad and grandpa cut down a tree. The tree was huge and was like a giant lollipop. It took multiple hours to take it down, branch by branch, until finally no branches were left. There was one last thing we had to do, get the huge tree trunk down. We cut the tree as much as possible and now it was time to help pull it down. My dad and I got on his quad and hooked a rope to the tree and as soon as we started going, BOOM. The tree collapsed onto the ground. As soon as I saw my dad, his smile was big and I felt like I won the lottery. I have never seen my dad smile that big before. It was the greatest feeling in the world to see my dad like that. I knew from that day forward, my dad appreciated me and would want my help in the future. Working hard all day didn’t seem like work because I was spending time with my dad and grandpa.

Julianna McCulley
My mother and I were at JcPenny’s and I saw a guy there asking for donations for the salvation army. I wanted to do something nice for him because he was helping the salvation army and he must have been cold. So, my mom and I bought him a hot chocolate. When we gave it to him, his whole face lit up. He was so happy. It made me feel so happy because he appreciated it so much, it also made me feel happy because people may give him a hard time and I’m sure no one has got him anything.

Isabelle McKimmy
I decided to go through McDonalds drive thru and pay for the person behind me. I don’t exactly know how it made them feel but I do know how it made me feel. It made me feel good to know that I would be affecting someone positively in that moment and maybe even brightening his or her day. I really hope that the person that received my Blueberry Moment benefited from it and enjoyed their free meal.

A couple girls and I decided to go to Carriage Town Ministries. We went there to play board games with the children. We all picked aboard game to bring with us. It put a smile on our faces to see the children so happy! After playing board games for at least three hours, we each picked a child to give our Blueberry Cards to. The girl I gave mine to said thank you and gave me a big hug. As we were leaving, I started to tear up because I thought about how people always think that what they have isn’t good enough but truly no matter how bad you think it is, some else has it worse. Even though, I may not know everything that was going on inside those children’s minds, I could still tell by their big smiles that they were pleased and happy that we came and spent some time with them.

I made cookies and brought them over to my neighbor. Him and his wife live down the street from me and have been very nice to us since we have moved in. So, I thought that the best way to repay him for his kind actions was cookies of course! The smile on his face was thanks enough, he was the happiest I had seen him in forever. It also made me feel super good to see the look on his face.

My first Blueberry Moment was helping out my grandma. I went over to her house and shoveled her sidewalk that goes up to her porch because we received a lot of snow. I did this because my grandma has a hard time walking because her feet well and I didn’t want her to slip and fall. I also helped her out by putting sheets on her bed since she isn’t able to reach over across the bed to do this on her own. My grandma was grateful that I helped her do these things and thanked me. I felt good that I was able to help her.

Blueberry Moment 14110
My second Blueberry Moment was helping my father. My dad was unable to shovel our sidewalk and porch because he had hurt his back. We had gotten a lot of snow and no one would be able to get to our front door. With my dad unable to do the shoveling, I volunteered to do it for him. My dad was relieved that he did not have to go out to do the shoveling and injure his back any further. It felt good helping my dad so that his back could rest.

Blueberry Moment 14111
I helped my mom and dad. I did the laundry and folded it. I did this because my mom and dad had to work. My parents were relieved that they didn’t have to take time out of the work they had to do for their jobs. They were able to finish what they were doing without having to worry about the laundry. It felt good to help out my parents because they do so much for me.

Tessa Miller
On Christmas, I went out and shoveled my driveway for my grandma since she has leg and back problems. I felt good about myself because I usually never shovel the driveway. I did it because I wanted to do something good and feel good that I did something nice for my grandma.

Blueberry Moment 14076
For one of my Blueberry Moments, I donated candy to Outreach East. I decided to do this act of kindness because kids that are less fortunate don’t get candy a lot and I felt like doing something good. At Outreach, you don’t give the person I need what you donate so I actually didn’t get to see the person’s reaction. But the person I gave it to was happy and thankful for the candy. This experience made me feel good for doing something good in the community. I hope whoever gets my Blueberry Card keeps the acts of kindness going.

Blueberry Moment 14077
I paid it forward at McDonalds. I decided to do this act of kindness because I thought I would do something nice for someone. I know a lot of people do a pay it forward for their Blueberry Moment, but I think it doesn’t matter how many times an act is done, it just matters what you did. When my dad handed the worker the Blueberry Card, he was very confused. I don’t think he knew how to react. It made me feel great knowing I just made someone’s day. I hope the person who was behind us makes someone else’s day.

Blueberry Moment 14078
For my third act of kindness, I paid it forward at McDonalds again. I don’t think it matters how many times an act is done, it won’t lose meaning. When my dad handed the card to the worker, he didn’t really respond. I felt amazing knowing that I made someone smile. I hope they also paid it forward.

Blueberry Moment 14074

I set out a basket at my front door for FedEx, the mailman, and UPS. There were goodies and water and hand warmers and I put up a sign that said, ‘My dad is a postal carrier and he tells me about people who leave him snacks to make his long day easier so I wanted to pay if forward. Thank you for all your hard work.’ I gave the UPS truck the Blueberry Card and they really appreciated it. The next day, I went to put the basket out again and I found a note that said thank you for the snacks and goodies and that really made me feel good and I’m sure it made them feel good too.

Blueberry Moment 14073
I bought two cards from Walgreens for Mr. Clifford and Mrs. Turkovics. In the card, it said thank you for being such a good teacher and for being so nice to me. I had all the kids in my class sign them both and I had them hanging up in their classrooms. That made me feel good and I hope it made them feel good too.

Blueberry Moment 14075
I went to Dollar Tree and bought thank you cards for my dance teacher. They said thank you for being such a great teacher and pushing me to my limits. The other reason why I wrote this card for her was because she hurt her ankle while teaching dance and she didn’t stop teacher. That just shows how dedicated she is and how much she loves us. After she read the card, it brought a smile to her face and it made her day.

Sydney Smith
I decided to make a candy sleigh for an older man in my neighborhood. After I finished making him one, I got a Christmas card and put a Blueberry Card with it, took it to his house, and put it in his mailbox so he was surprised when he got home.

I decided to buy diapers, pacifiers, and baby wipes for parents that can’t afford them. It made me very happy to know that I am helping someone.

I went to Carriage Town Ministries. We brought some board games to donate and play with the kids there. I gave my Blueberry Card to a girl there named Destiny. She was really nice. She was really good at Headbandz and Twister. It was really fun to hang out with them.

On New Year’s Eve, it snowed and I went to the neighbor’s and shoveled their driveway. They appreciated it. I think I made them really happy. I wanted to do this because they work and I thought it would take some stress out of their day. I was very proud when they thanked me. I was happy that they were pleased with my work.

I bought hot chocolate for people who take carts back to the stores. When I asked them if they wanted some, they said they couldn’t take it but they appreciated me asking them. I was happy they liked that I offered them hot chocolate.

For my third Blueberry Moment, I am donating stuff to Whaley Children’s Center. It is a place where kids who need help get cared for in a crisis. So, I thought it would be nice to donate some stuff. We got a list of their needs and  they told us about a store. They will put the small toys that are donated in a store and when the kids get enough pretend money for doing deeds, they can purchase these toys. Then, I got my allowance and I bought some snacks, clothes and some more toys. I will meet with the manager and go on a tour. The kids go there because something bad happened to them but the people try to make them feel better. I feel bad for the kids and I really appreciate the people helping the kids at Whaley. I think kids will like what I brought them. I am really happy to help these kids out.

I shoveled the snow from my neighbor’s driveway and sidewalk. It just finished snowing and we received about five inches of snow. My older sister and I went next door and shoveled their driveway and sidewalk. It made my neighbors feel really happy and I felt really good even though it was cold. The experience made me realize that doing kind things is really good and makes life a little easier for others.

I wrote a positive note saying, ‘You are awesome and be the best that you can be.’ Then, I put it in a random library book. I did it because I felt like it was a good idea since I was reading a book and my bookmark I had made fell out. It said good things also. I was at my house when I got the idea. I don’t know if someone found it yet or not, but if someone does, I think they will have a good reaction. The experience made me realize that you have people that need cheering up and it’s the little things that can cheer them up. Some people can be sad without knowing and this will help.

I held a door open for some elderly people and my grandmother at McDonalds. I just thought of it while I was in the car driving there. It made my grandma very happy that she didn’t have to open the heavy door herself. It also made me feel good to know she didn’t have to do work just to do inside the restaurant. It made me appreciate my grandma more and I promise to do more nice stuff for her and others.

I helped my mom by shoveling the driveway because she needed help. It made me feel happy that I was helping someone I love. I also helped my dogs by doing this because they can’t run in the snow for too long or their legs with freeze. That made me feel happy inside because I love dogs and I love to help a dog in need.

I helped the library clean up the trash, dust, fix the shelves, fix magazines, and help with anything else. This made me excited because I helped my second favorite place.

My sister was sick and I helped her feel better. She is feeling a lot better now.

I helped my friend, Abby with her homework because she needed help.

I went to Genesys hospital with my mom and passed out little Beanie Boos to all the sick children to help them be happy. It was one of the most amazing things that I have ever done. It made me feel so good inside to see them smile and I would love to do it again.

Blueberry Moment 14113
I went to a nursing home and played all different kinds of games. We played bingo, rumi, and crazy eights. I passed out candy and cookies to all the winners. I also painted some of the resident’s nails. I chose to do this because I love to help other people. It made me feel so happy to see them smile. They played pretty good and I could tell by their faces that they were happy to see us and glad that we were there.

I decided to make cards for veterans. I did this because they go out of their way to serve and risk their lives for us and our country. Every day, they put their life on the line just so we could be protected. I chose to do this because it takes bravery and kindness for them to do what they do. I feel blessed that they do this for us and I wanted to express my thankfulness.

I paid for an older lady’s Christmas dinner at the grocery store. She was super happy and it made her day. She even almost cried. She said, “You did not have to do that, thank you so much!”

My mom and I sponsored a family from a shelter for Christmas. We shopped for lots of toys and clothes for kids. We also bought things for them to get started in a new apartment. I helped pick out the toys and clothes. We then wrapped all the gifts and delivered them to the shelter. It made me feel so happy that their family had things to open on Christmas. I was also happy that the kids had new boots and clothes.

I asked my mom if I could bake Valentine’s Day cookies for an elderly lady named Ms. Pat. She lives all alone and her husband died. She has always gone out of her way to be thoughtful to the neighborhood kids. She gives us treats and is very friendly. I just knew that she would be so happy to have a visitor as well as some delicious frosted cookies. She was very surprised and said that it made her day because she gets lonely, especially in the winter. I was so happy to visit her. She also said that she’ll pass on the random act of kindness to someone else.

I was playing in my basketball game on Saturday. When we were playing, one of the kids on the other team fell. I stopped what I was doing and helped him up without hesitation. It felt good to help someone even though we were opponents in the same game. You looked so surprised that I helped him up.

When we were at Walmart, a man started to scan his items at the self-.checkout. I told him I wanted to pay for his groceries. He said he was fine, but after I told him about the Blueberry program, he said okay. He smiled and seemed happy that I chose him. I think it improved his mood and his day. After I paid, you look straight into my eyes and thanked me. He took the Blueberry Card and maybe one day soon, he will also do a random act of kindness for someone else. I felt good after doing it. I realize that helping just one person can help many things          one person, that person could help another person and that person can help the next and so on.

There is a lady that lives right across the street from me. Sheila Center two dogs named Daisy and Feenee. I decided to make each dog a tie blanket. I went to Joann’s and pick out several police fabrics. I took them home and cut them and tie them together. But I went over to her house, and gave for the blankets for her two dogs. She was so happy and she promised me that she would pass. Right away, she started sharing ideas she had to pass along thoughtful random act of kindness. Being thoughtful to each other is contagious. I am happy to be a part of something positive that grows and grows.

I was passing down the road and saw girls selling Girl Scout cookies. So, I bought boxes of cookies and one extra box to give to someone. We went to the gas station and bought a lady’s gas for her and then we gave for the extra package of Girl Scout cookies. She mentioned that she had been wanting Girl Scout cookies but couldn’t find any. She was very happy and friendly and told us that just a couple of days ago, she bought someone’s gas for them also. She said that she was definitely going to pass on the random act of kindness to someone else. She also said that when you give, it comes back to you. It was fun to help someone and know that she is going to help someone else passing it from one person to the next.

For my Blueberry Moment, I decided to donate some of my books to the Pediatric department of the hospital. I took them to Genesys because that is where I went when I was a baby and had to be hospitalized. When I did my moment, it made me feel very happy that these kids would have something to read while in the hospital. The nurse’s reaction was very happy and thankful that I did that.

I went to Tim Hortons and I got steaming hot chocolates and gave them to the crossing guards. They had very joyful faces and were very happy. When I gave them the hot chocolate, it made me feel very happy and I’m very glad that I gave them that.

I wrote a paragraph to my fifth-grade teacher about how amazing she was to me last year. Her reaction was very happy and she was super glad that I did that. When I gave her that letter, it made me feel like a very sweet person and when I saw her reaction, I was so happy that I did that for her.

My family and I were pulling into our driveway and noticed the UPS guy was dropping off a package to my neighbor’s house. Their driveway is very long and was and was not plowed so the UPS guy left the package in a snowbank by their mailbox. I was afraid they were not going to see it in the snowbank and that someone might take it, so I brought it up to their house. They were very happy and thankful I brought it to them.

I got a gift bag of popcorn and some candy and left it on a Redbox. So, someone could take it home with them when they bought a movie. I chose this because when my family rents from a Redbox, my little sister would always want some popcorn and candy to go with it. I don’t personally know how the person felt about it but I know it made me feel really good inside.

Blueberry Moment 14181
I went to a Dollar Tree and put a dollar bill on a piece of paper with a note and a Blueberry Card. I chose this Blueberry Moment because I was hoping to bring some joy to a little kid and make them smiled. I don’t know how the kid felt but I felt amazing.

I helped my dad shop for a family he adopted at work. We had to shop for a 13 year old girl and a 10 year old boy. We bought them Christmas gifts that they asked for such as coats, pajamas, leggings, sweatshirts, and bed sheets. We also shopped for another family and got them bathroom supplies.

I cleaned out my closet and dresser and found some clothes that I did not need anymore. I donated them to salvation army.

I went with my mom to work on a Saturday. I usually sit in the office while she does her work but they were busy. So, I had just started doing things that needed to be done like washing down the tables, helping customers, etc. She had noticed and at the end of the day, she said thank you. It just made my heart feel so good that I helped her with that and taken some stress off her shoulders.

At my grandma’s house, there is a nursing home that her and I volunteered at. We went up to the nursing center and helped with some things. Just that hour alone, made me feel so good knowing that I’m helping someone. It just made me feel so good to impact the people there and the nurses there with helping them so they don’t feel so overwhelmed.

There was a lunch monitor that had dropped everything that was in her pocket and it was scattered everywhere. No one got up to help her so I stood up and helped her pick up her things. With this little act, she felt happy and had a huge smile on her face. Even though it was just a little act, it made me feel better because it changed the rest of her day which made us both have smiles on our faces.

I donated my own money for chemotherapy care bags at Lapeer Cancer Center for cancer patients. I did this to brighten cancer patients’ days during their treatment. It made me feel good knowing I will make someone smile. The patients will feel special that someone cared to think about them.
