You know how kids always love capsule machines and nice messages? Well a few kids get a chance to use the capsule machines and read a positive message. How do a few kids get to read a positive message and get to use the machine? Well, I taped a few quarters to the machine with a positive message and a Blueberry Card. It made me feel happy because I know I will make someone’s day as good as I felt that day taping the quarters up onto the machines.

When I was at my CCD class (church class) our list for stacking chairs, picking up paper, and picking up pencils are always full. Well it was full this time too. At the end of class, only one person stayed to help out. Since I know she need help, I went back into class to help out. When I finished, I grabbed the Blueberry Card and gave it to my teacher. It made me feel good because I know that if I help someone else and it makes me happy, they get happy too.

When my mom tells me about people who don’t have clothes or food, it always makes me sad. When I was thinking about that, I knew that I had some clothes that did not fit me anymore so I donated several bags of clothes to our church’s outreach. An outreach is a location by our church where you put food and clothes there. Then people who need it come there and get what they need. I left the bags in there with the Blueberry Card on one of the bags. It made me feel good because I know that I am helping people out by donating things they need. One day, I hope I can volunteer there to help the people find the stuff they need.

You know how some people don’t have a family that can take care of them or that they don’t care about them? Well I wanted to make them happier throughout the holiday season, so I took time out of my playing to make holiday card for all the residents at a nursing home. When I finished, my mom took me to the nursing home to deliver the cards. The lady at the front desk was still very surprised. I was happy that I made the cards and know that it will make people happy when they opened the cards.

The first thing I did was giving candy to nurses. I did this because I had a lot of candy and I know how working as a nurse could be hard and candy always helps.

For the next thing, I made homemade peppermint bark, then I went to my neighbor’s house and gave it to them. Their reactions were priceless. They were surprised because not many people are so kind anymore. I did this because everyone need some help getting in the spirit.

For my last Blueberry Moment, I gave Christmas cards to people in nursing homes. I went to the receptionist desk and told her. She was so happy. My dad was almost crying because of her reaction. I did this because I wanted my last thing to count. I love being a Blueberry. It really enters you into a huge world of kindness. I am so sad that it come to an end. I hope we can all make a difference.

For my first Blueberry Moment, I decided to do something with my grandma and if you ever had her cookies, you would agree they are the best. I wanted to share that with people. So, I decided to make chocolate chip cookies. First, I had to get the ingredients for cookies. Next, I had to set a date to make them. They were very fun to make. The hard part was delivering them. This was because I wanted to do some people that I knew. I decided to deliver it to my friends Scarlett and Sidney. We also delivered some to our neighbor across the street. The person at the door started to cry happy tears. At Scarlett’s house, she started to eat them all.

For my second Blueberry Moment, I did the smallest act of kindness I could think of. I just did my sister’s chores. What she had to do was maintain the chalkboard, organize the shoes, cold weather supplies, clean off hooks, and clean out her mitten bin. She also had to clean the hallway. She had a lot of homework to do for school, so I decided to do her job and she would get an allowance.

I gave my mom a thank you card. It said, “Dear Mommy, thank you for everything you do. I really do appreciate it. I love you so much. Love, Quinn.” I could tell she really loved the Blueberry Moment. When I finished my Blueberry Moments, I felt joy and happiness. I could tell that the people that I did do something for was happy that I thought of them.

I wanted to do something nice for my friend because he has been so great to me, so I decided to shovel his family’s driveway after snowstorm. I could tell that they appreciated it a lot and helping them made me feel very good.

I said to my dad, “I think that we could clean up the front of our subdivision.” We grabbed a trash bag, walked around the front of our subdivision, and picked up trash. It took some effort, but it was definitely worth it. The front of the subdivision looked so good when we finished. My parents posted pictures of the Facebook subdivision page and lots of people commented on how much they appreciated it. I was glad that I did it.

I thought that I could make a tasty treat for the staff. So, my mom helped me make some brownies. I don’t know if the teachers liked the brownies, but I hope they did. These random acts of kindness made me feel good to be able to serve my community. I could do for the community. It made me very happy, and I can’t wait for when I do more.

For my first Blueberry Moment, I taped a $1.50 and the Blueberry Card to the vending machine at the school. I decided to do that because I wanted to make someone feel good. I wanted to make someone’s day. It made me feel good knowing that I probably made someone’s day. It made my day too. It also made me feel like kindness needs to be a trait in everyone. But, I didn’t get a picture or the card number, so I did it again, but in a different place. I did it at St. John’s Catholic Church where my brother plays basketball. Again, it made me feel good. It made me feel even better knowing that I did it two times. Everyone needs kindness. Lots and lots of it.

For my second Blueberry Moment, I donated books to my old girl scout troop. It made Mrs. M (one of the girl scout troop leaders) feel amazing. What made her feel even better was that her daughter Sophia was a Blueberry when she was in fifth grade. It made me feel extraordinary knowing that I made someone’s day. I donated books for the troop’s Silver Award. They were collecting as many books as they could and donated them to Atherton Elementary. The world needs more peace, so treat others the way you would want to be treated. With Kindness!

For my last Blueberry Moment, I bought flowers and gave them to the cashier. This was the most important moment for me because my grandma used to do it whenever she was feeling down. My grandma passed away in the summer of 2019 and it brings back memories. I was really close with her. It makes me feel good. When I gave the flowers to the cashier, she said “Really?” It made me feel amazing! Kindness is like Karma, if you do something nice for someone chances are they will do something nice back.
