For my first Blueberry Moment, I helped my school with a sale. At the sale, I went around to people asking if they needed help finding anything, I was able to show people where specific things were.
My second Blueberry Moment was around Christmas time. My sister was struggling money-wise. On Christmas day, my dad and I gave her a little bit of money to help her and her family. For my last Blueberry Moment, I went to my dads work with him one day. He works at as a landscaping company. It was winter and I gave all the people working hand warmers, coffee, and donuts.

I helped Mr. Donaldson, our Science teacher, with the class by collecting folders and papers. The classroom was messy and people in my class needed help from the teacher. Mr. Donaldson also needs help passing out papers and folders when he is busy and I often help him then. I helped my sister with her homework because my parents were busy cleaning. My sister needed help with a math problem. I was glad to help and be a good big brother.I helped my mom with cleaning the house. It’s to much work for one person. Also, my mom is a nice person and if I help, we can spend more time together after we’re done. I like to help because I love my mom.

My first Blueberry Moment is when I helped at the Food Drive at my school, Fiedler Elementary. I helped sort pumpkins, squash, desserts and more. Anyone from the community was able to come pick out food for free. I helped people by carrying the boxes while they filled them up with food. My second Blueberry Moment is helping with the donation boxes at my school. The classrooms were collecting food, household products and more for families at Christmas time. I helped sort the items in boxes to be given to the families. My third Blueberry Moment was when my school had a popcorn sale. Students are able to buy a bag of popcorn for $1.00. The money we made from the sales went to charity. I helped count the money from the classrooms.

Emma Yelle
I was at Planet 3 to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I helped a little girl get on a platform that she couldn’t reach because she was too short. Because of me, she had a lot of fun that day.

Secondly, I was home from school because of a snow day. My elderly neighbors’ driveway was filled with snow. I shoveled it to be nice to them.

Thirdly, I was in Chicago for my birthday. Walking through the streets of Chicago, there are a lot of homeless people. I was sad for them. I gave a disabled homeless person some money for food or any thing he needed. Also, my mom and I helped a lady in a wheelchair cross the street. She was struggling to maneuver her wheelchair across the bumpy road.

Zander Roda
Every December, my school has a Santa Bazar. Students can purchase craft items. A girl was struggling to carry her bags and I helped her carry them.

I helped Connor with his math problems. We were learning about fractions. He was happy I was able to help him.

On Christmas, we had a lot of family over. We made turkey and all the side dishes. After dinner was over, my mom was stressed because of all the dirty dishes. I helped my mom wash and dry the dishes. We had fun together. It took her less time and we were able to relax sooner.

My first Blueberry Moment was at the food drive when I was helping a family that came in late. We were all putting the food away. They came in asking if they were late and I said they were but I would be happy to get what they wanted. They choose three bags of tomatoes and one bag of potatoes. This made me feel good and made me want to do more stuff like this to help families that need the food.

My next Blueberry Moment was when I was donating things to the animal shelter. I got to meet a lot of the dogs and cats that were at the animal shelter. I was happy that I got to meet all the animals there.

My third Blueberry Moment is when I was giving away my toys away at my grandma’s house. Even though all the toys I gave away weren’t all free I did give away some for free. I secretly put a couple of toys in a bag with a family that had two kids in the family. When the kids got in the car and opened the bag I saw one hold up a pack of baseball cards. He was happy and so was I.

My first Blueberry Moment is when our school had a food drive. I helped pass food and water out to everyone the week of Thanksgiving. I helped sort through the food. When people arrived, I showed them the different kind of foods they could choose from.

My next Blueberry Moment is when I donated old toys I had to a daycare. I helped my mom sort through my old toys I don’t play with anymore. We gave them away to a daycare that needed more toys for its kids.

Finally, my last Blueberry Moment is when I shoveled my grandpa’s driveway and porch because it was too cold for him to do it. After all I did, I felt joyful because I was able to help others.

Blueberry Moment 20642
The Community Food Give Away during November was one of my favorite events. Our local community was able to come to my school and pick out food that their family would enjoy. I felt very helpful when I showed the people around and help them pick out their food.

Blueberry Moment 20643
A random act of kindness that I was apart of in November was making a video for our school bus drivers. A group of us got together to let them know how thankful we are for driving us to school safely. I feel very grateful for our bus drivers and felt like it was a kind thing to do.

Blueberry Moment 20644
During this school year, I became apart of the Links program, which is a student to student program. I get to hang out with other students that I might not normally get to hang out with. Our time is during lunch and recess where we can play games, talk, and I can just be a friend. It makes me feel happy that I can help someone else.

My first Blueberry Moment is when I went to the Food Drive to help other people. I helped by helping people carry their carts outside and giving them the certain foods that they wanted. I felt good about doing all of that. I think it made them feel grateful that other students and I were there to help.

Blueberry Moment 19120
My second Blueberry Moment is when I bought my family ice cream and it surprised them a lot. I thought everyone would want a treat so I game my mom some money and she went to get us sundae’s. They were delicious! My brother and sister were so thankful and loved the surprise. I felt good and the ice cream tasted delicious.

Blueberry Moment 19121
My third Blueberry Moment is when I cleaned up the whole house without my parents asking me to do it. They were grateful for me doing that. I think they were a little bit surprised. I wanted my parents to be happy and kind of proud of me. I think I am going to surprise my parents and clean the house and do more chores around the house so they we have more time as a family. It made me feel good inside and I want to help them more often.

One of the moments was at the mall one day and I saw someone that needed help with all the things that she was carrying so I decided to help her. I helped her and she said, “You are so kind,” and I told her, “I am just trying to help you with all this stuff you have.”

Another moment was when I helped my friend, Ayden. He had lots of stuff from school and I was going to his house that same day, so I helped him by carrying all his stuff and I also carried all my stuff. He was very happy because for once he did not have to carry anything.

My last moment was with another friend and his name is Landon. Landon is a very nice kid and no matter what, we are always playing together at recess. Every day, Landon has trouble with putting everything in are locker. He and I are locker partners, so every day I help him with all the big things that go in our locker. One day, I gave him one of my Blueberry Cards but, that does not mean that I stopped helping him. I still help him every day, so he is not late for class.

One day, my mom and I were going to give out old scarves we had to the homeless. At first, I did not want to go because I would miss cheer practice. I started to think about what would be the better thing to do. I decided I would go with my mom because some people need a lot more than I do. When we got to Bay City, we tried to find as many people as we could. When we found one person they were shivering with only one thin long sleeve on. I ran back to the car to get a scarf. I also looked around some more and grabbed a jacket that my mom did not fit anymore I gave him the jacket and the scarf. I felt so proud inside and knew I did something right.

One day I was at school and we were in the middle of a game and my table got called to go get our things to go home. When I went out there was a kid waiting at the elevator in a wheelchair. He asked one of my friends to help to get him downstairs. My friend told him no you can do it yourself. So, I went up to him and told him I will help you. I wanted to get back to my game but I knew he really needed help. I knew that was the better thing to do.

One day, I was hanging out with my friend and we were both kind of scared of the neighbor’s dog. So, we were playing in the front yard and the neighbor’s dog came out to use the bathroom. My friend wanted to pet the dog and tried but it nipped at her. She screamed and started running, the dog came running after her and she started screaming and crying. I knew I had to do something. So, I got the dog’s attention and he started running after me so I ran back into the neighbors and closed the gate so he can’t get back out. Towards the end of the day, I was proud because I used my fear and helped my friend out. I thought to myself friend help each other out.

I helped my mom and sister and cleaned the house. We were having company over and my mom didn’t feel well.

My sister and I were playing and running around the house. She was chasing me, tripped and fell on the floor. I helped her by getting an ice pack for her leg.

Outside on the playground at lunchtime, my friend was running, fell and scraped her ankle. I comforted her while lunch monitors got help. She said she was glad I was there.

This weekend, we celebrated my grandma’s birthday and Valentine’s Day with her. I wanted to make her day special and make her smile. I painted her a picture at my social play group, then I had my step dad take me to Kroger after to get her a Valentine Card and some pretty roses. When we got to my house, my grandma was there so I went inside and surprised her with the gifts I picked out for her. She was so happy, that she smiled real big and gave me a hug and a kiss! It was only something little that didn’t change the world but it made her happy and that made me really happy! It made me feel good inside!

My first Blueberry Moment is that me and my friend Abby Hogan made cards for the seniors. We drew pictures and wrote kind notes in them. When I made them, it made me feel good. I hope to do it again.

Secondly, my mom and I went to Crossroads Village for a girls night out. We had a lot of extra tickets. We give a family our tickets so they did not have to pay for them. That made me feel super good and makes me feel like an awesome person. I hope to do it again.

Thirdly, my friends and I wrote kind words on sticky notes. We hung them up all over the school. It made me feel awesome. When I saw a locker without a sticky note, I was sad they didn’t have the kind words to cheer them up.

Lastly, the students from my fourth grade class last year are making a play for a teacher to show how much we appreciate him. Hope to do it again, maybe for all my teachers.

Kadence Streeter
My first Blueberry Moment was that me and my sisters made and gave out snowman jars. We put hot cocoa and candy in the jars. We gave them out to our friends to spread kindness. It made me feel so happy for myself and I hope they can show the amazing kind things I did and I hope to do this again.
Secondly, my friends Lily Weidman, Abbey Hogan, Abby Roberts and I were writing kind notes on sticky notes. We went around the school and hung them up on places like lockers and the water fountains. We were hoping when people saw them it made them feel happy if they were having a bad day.

Lastly, I am helping make a video with the students from my class last year in fourth grade. We are making a movie for Mr. Billing’s birthday. We hope to have more time to shoot more video. It is very fun.

During Christmas, my grandma and I picked out gifts for families in need. It made me feel so good when I was shopping, knowing I was helping a family have a nice Christmas.

I also helped with my school’s food drive. I unloaded the food, sorted it, and helped people “shop”. It was so great to be a part of.

I’m also planning to make a movie for my teacher. I’m so excited to do it.

Another thing I did was put bags of popcorn on Redbox machines. Hopefully, people who didn’t have popcorn to eat with their movie will now have a bag.

Mary Jane Desgrange
My mother had a baby on September 28, 2018. The baby had caused her to have some bad liver issues. My sister and I cleaned the house. My mom was really happy.

Peyton Hinman
For my first Blueberry Moment, I wanted to go big or go home. This time, I truly wanted to make a difference. For this moment, I raised money for people with cancer. I believe that cancer is always something horrible to hear. I also believe that this should not be the case. To raise awareness, I made a bunch of products to sell. My family and I worked so hard to put this together. Finally, all my crafts were done. At the parent teacher conferences, I took my time selling these things in the library. The grand total ending up being $150. I believe that experience has changed me a lot and the way I view the world.

For my second Blueberry Moment, I paid for someone’s meal. I went with family to go pick up dinner. Then a guy pulled up right behind us. In a few minutes, he was paid for. I did not get the chance to meet this man but I hope that he passed the good deed forward. Thank you for the experience.

For my final Blueberry Moment, I helped my mom out with her classroom. My mom teaches at Bentley schools to teach many kids how to deal with their mental disabilities. She teaches little kids with binders and little worksheets so I helped put those together. I am grateful for the experience.

Kara Marks
My first Blueberry Moment was when I was at Walmart with my grandma. We went shopping and once we got into the checkout line, we had a lot of groceries. There was a person behind us who only had a gallon of milk. We thought it would be helpful and kind if we let her get in front of us. When we did, I felt very happy when we did it because I knew we just did something very nice and we didn’t even know who she was.

My second Blueberry Moment was when I helped set up the food drive with the other Blueberry Ambassadors. I helped the people who came shop for what they needed. I helped people push their carts out to their car and help them find things they needed. I felt good after I helped because I did a nice thing for many people.

It was nice to know they would have good food for Thanksgiving.

My second Blueberry Moment was helping out with the Kearsley Christmas Charity. I organized the boxes and placed toys, food and soap in them. These boxes were given to families in need of supplies in my community. This made me feel very happy that all the families got the supplies they needed.

My third Blueberry Moment was when I handmade origami flowers. I attached inspirational notes to them. I went door to door at The Pines Assisted Living Home to deliver the gifts to each resident living there. When I walked into each room, their faces lit up with joy. I felt so good knowing that such a small act made such a big difference.

Sarah Chambers
I was walking in the grocery store with my mom when I see an older lady picking up her cart with all her things on the ground. I walk up to her and ask if she needs help but no response, so I just bent down and helped her. After that, she had the biggest smile on her face.

My mom was laying in her bed, sick with something. I walk in and ask if she needs something and she says no, but I just went and laid right next to her. I comforted her with all the love I had.

When it was our time to go home from our grandpa’s, nobody asked, but I picked up all of our trash, folded our blankets, and gave my grandpa the biggest hug. I told him, you better get going to bed, I have already picked up. Then when we were leaving, I asked my dad if grandpa will be ok, of course he said yes, but I just had to say one last goodbye to him just to make sure he was.

For my second Blueberry Moment, I brought in six bags of cereal and oatmeal for the Christmas food drive. I felt great because I filled the donations box almost to the top, plus the food was going to people during hard times.

For my last Blueberry Moment, I shoveled my neighbor’s driveway, free of cost. Knowing they didn’t have to go out in the cold made my day. My neighbors are older so it made me feel even better shoveling for them.

On the bus, there was a girl all alone and she looked really bored. I invited her to sit with me and she said yes. She came to my seat, I asked her what she liked to do, what grade she was in and who her teacher was and what games she liked to play. We had a lot in common. I asked if she wanted to play on my phone, she said yes. Every day, she was alone and every day, I invited her to sit with me. We would just talk for a long time, and then we became friends. It doesn’t sound like much but it made me really happy and it made her even happier.

There was a girl at outside at recess and she was alone. I invited her to play with me. Then I asked her what she wanted to do, she said she liked to tag, so we started playing tag then she said thanks. When we went inside, I was really happy. Then the next day, she was there in the same spot alone and sad. I invited her to play with me and then and there, I said if there’s ever a time you are alone or don’t have anybody to play with come find me and I promise that I will always play with you.

On bus four, there was someone doing their homework, another student saw him and when he walked by him he smacked the guys homework out of his hands, laughed and walked away. I came over and picked up his papers and gave them to him and sat in the set next to him.

I was at school and we were working on the positivity project. I wrote an encouraging note. I was writing a friend a note that said he was a good friend.

I was at school and I was with a friend who was sad. I made them feel better by talking to them.

It was a snow day. My sister and I wanted to watch one movie and my brother wanted to watch another. We made my brother a deal: If we get to watch our movie, he can watch as many movies of his choice after ours is done.

Haley Hanes

Gracie Dowell
Sadly, my Aunt Billie died. She was very sick and in the middle of the night she just passed. She gave me three teddy bears, a dog, and a bear, and another bear. My cousin was sad, and mind you this I wanted my stuffed animals, but she was really sad. I gave her one of my bears to take home with her to have a memory of Aunt Billie.

This one took place at Burger King. There was a man, I’d guess about forty five years old and homeless. He was sitting at a booth right next to us and I felt bad for this man. We paid for his meal and gave him extra money for clothes and water.

All of the Leadership Council in my school rode a bus to Weston, our lower elementary school. We had been collecting teddy bears donate to all Kindergarteners. We read to the kindergarteners and gave them teddy bears. One of the students I was able to read to was my cousin, Haven, and boy was he happy.

I helped put new wood chips onto Fiedler and Dowdall school’s playgrounds. We spent the day raking and digging the wood chips. When we were done at Dowdall, we played basketball and had pizza.

I mowed my neighbor’s lawn. His son normally did it but he was gone and it needed to be done. He can’t do it himself. I mowed all of it except the very back cause it is very big.

Another time, I helped her with her groceries because her son was not home so I brought them inside and I got some cookies from her and they were very good.

Brooklyn Hoskey

My last Blueberry Moment was when I was looking in the newspaper. There was a story about a dog shelter that needed help with money. I talked to my mom and she said yes to my idea. Then I ran and got some of my money and put it in an envelope and sent the money to them. I also included a letter and the Blueberry Card. I gave them around $20.00.

Autumn Shapardon
My first Blueberry Moment is when my sister, Jaymie Shapardon, had to stay with her dog Whiskey (I am his aunt). I let her stay in my room on my bottom bunk with her dog Whiskey. He is very lovable and very cute.

My second Blueberry Moment is when I was at a Blueberry meeting and I volunteered to help out with the Kindness Grams at our school. I was in charge of cutting out paper hearts with another person helping me out. The paper was a dark red color and they were very big hearts. On the heart, there is a heart shaped sucker with two different flavors in the sucker.

For my last Blueberry Moment, I was at Walmart. The roof was leaking and they had buckets on the floor to catch the water. The water was missing the bucket so I moved it and gave a worker a Blueberry Card. There were other buckets too, so any bucket I saw that the water wasn’t going in it I moved the bucket.
