Blueberry Moment 7321
This summer I went to my mom’s school and we handed out backpacks for the kids who can’t afford stuff like that. It was fun because I got to help people and I love to help people. It made me feel good because now I know that now they have a backpack, folders, some pencils and even more stuff to start off their year. Now all those kids can go to school with new things. I would do something like this again.
Blueberry Moment 7320
This year my neighbor’s husband had a tumor removed from his lung. They are elderly like all of my other neighbors so when I saw that their garbage can was still out at the road, I carefully crossed the street and put it by their garage. When I did this, I realized that the world can be bad but if something kind happens it can change someone’s day. She thought it was my dad so my mom told her that it was really me! I got thanked when she realized it was me!
Blueberry Moment 8622
This year I did a food bank after school for the food bank. I helped one of my caretakers find what she needed and helped her carry her box out to her car. We also had to take everything out of the truck and put it on the tables. It was fun because I got to meet very kind people and some of the people at school. Next year if we do it again, I am going to help and I will get to meet new people and have fun.
Blueberry Moment 7305
My Blueberry Moment was when I put a little gift in the mailbox for Christmas. First, I went to Family Dollar to get a card and some candy. After that, we paid for the stuff and drove home. When my mom and I got home I signed the card and I wrote: Enjoy your candy. Merry Christmas. Then, I packed all the stuff in a little gift bag and put it in the mailbox. This made me feel good and made me wonder what other nice things I could do for people.
My Blueberry Moment was when I brought hot chocolate to a bell ringer at Walmart on 12/6/16. First, I went to McDonald’s to get the hot chocolate. Then, I brought the hot chocolate back to Walmart. Next, I went up to the guy and gave him the hot chocolate. After that, he said “Thank You and Merry Christmas”. Then, I said “You’re welcome. Merry Christmas to you too”. After, me and my mom went back to the car and as we drove off we waved to the man and he waved back. This made me feel good it also made me want to do more things for people.
On October 26, 2016 was my first Blueberry Moment. The Food Bank delivered different things to the school for my community. There was bread, vegetables and salad. And a bunch of other things. I helped people get boxes and pick the stuff they wanted. Then I took it and loaded it in their car. I like to do this because it makes me feel happy and helping the community.
My Blueberry Moment that was next was when I helped a kid at my school who was being picked on. I stood up and told the kids to stop mimicking him and making him feel bad. He is a nice boy and does not need to be picked on. I felt like I was helping the school environment. I felt like I was helping the kid have a friend.

My Blueberry Moment was when at a store a lady was old and she had a lot of groceries in her cart. So, I stepped up and asked her if I could help her. I grabbed the groceries and picked them up and put them in her car. It was cold and windy. She said thank you to me and I said you’re welcome and that was the moment where I know I stepped up and helped an elder and it made me feel proud.
On October 26, most of the Blueberry Ambassadors joined in after school (at Fiedler Elementary) for a free fresh produce event. We had baked goods, lettuce, carrots, potatoes, apples, and other produce. When people came in they would get a box and a helper, I helped a man and two of his kids, I carried their box and helped them pick out a few things, after they were done we were to help them put it in their car if they liked. (We had permission from adults running the event). When I helped them, I slipped my Blueberry Card into their box. Helping at this event made me feel very kind and helpful. The event went by quickly and successfully.
Blueberry Moment 9438
My second Blueberry Moment was when on the bus we were being let off and this one girl was trying to get off but nobody would let her through. I stopped the line to let her through, the next day (we have something called free seat Friday) and I sat with her and we talked and I found a new friend. It made me feel great to be able to make a new friend. So, I gave her a card and told her to give it to somebody when she has done something nice.
Blueberry Moment 9473
My third Blueberry Moment when basically since last year on the first day of school to this very day, I got on the bus (on my first day of school at a new school) and didn’t know where to sit. So, I sat in a seat by myself but a few stops later a girl who seemed almost like she knew me came and sat in the seat next to me. She started talking to me, and we have been very good friends since. She was my very first friend at this school. So, in return we have done many nice things for each other, like try and help each other solve friend conflicts, and much more, so on Today I’m going to give her my Blueberry Card because she’s a great friend, and she deserves to know we’ve both been great friends to each other. Having her as a friend makes me feel confident, and most of all happy.
Blueberry Moment 7298
My first Blueberry Moment was when we stayed after school for the Food Bank food delivery to Fiedler Elementary on October 26, 2016. I helped unload the food from the truck and sort it into different groups like pastries, bread, vegetables, and fruit. Families from the Kearsley Community were invited to come select food. I got to help families pick out food and deliver it to their cars. I felt happy to help people gather food for their loved ones. It was nice to feel like I was making a difference and making other people happy.
Blueberry Moment 7296
My second Blueberry Moment was when my mom and I made sweet treats for the Burton firemen. It took a few days to make home-made caramel, fudge, chocolate-covered peanut butter balls, and chocolate-covered pretzels. We packed everything in a Christmas tin and went to the fire station on December 8, 2016. I wrote a letter to thank the firemen. I felt happy to give back to the people who help us every day!
Blueberry Moment 7297
My third Blueberry Moment was when my mom and I surprised our neighbor with groceries so she wouldn’t have to go out in the cold and snow. It was on December 8, 2016 in our Fiedler neighborhood. We picked out enough food to last for several days. We got vegetables and fruit, roast and hamburger, eggs and bacon, bread and drinks. I also picked out some sweet treats for her and her daughter. I paid half the bill from my savings, and my mom paid the rest. My neighbor was thankful and said that it made her day. She had been sad because her husband had passed away just three months ago. I felt happy to make her day. I knew she would be happy, but I didn’t know how much it would mean to her. When I saw her smile, it made me smile.
My first Blueberry Moment was on the first day of school when I saw this girl just walking by herself. I asked her if she wanted to be my friend because I was not just going to leave her out. She said sure so then it was time to line up and I said how about every day we meet at the swings. Then we just became friends. It made her feel good because now she has friends.
My second Blueberry Moment is when my sister and I were dancing at my dance class and my teacher asked who can do the splits and I raised my hand. My sister said, “I will never be able to the splits.” When we got home we practiced day and night and then the next week she could do them. It made me feel good because I was helpful to help her. I gave her a card and told her to give it to someone after she did a good deed for them.
My last Blueberry Moment is when we did the food drive at Fielder Elementary. We brought in food. Sophia H. and I helped a girl and brought it to her car. We each gave her one of our cards. I told her to give it to someone. It made me feel good because I helped someone that needed help.
I helped a nice man and his child during the food give-away on 10/26/16. They had a lot of food from the free food give-away. It made me feel good about myself.
Blueberry Moment 7308
My brother, Alex, and I helped Mrs. Verran, our principal, and my mom pack away the book fair books after it was done. I rolled the carts out to the hallway. It was hard work and it took a while. I had fun and felt good.
My first Blueberry Moment was on October 26, 2016 at the Food Bank give away. The Food Bank teamed up with Kearsley to help the community. I got to help unload the truck and organize all the food tables. I even got to show people around! I gave my Blueberry Card to one nice lady, and then I helped her outside. This made me feel great because I got to help my community and my neighbors in Flint.
My family and I donated a toy kitchen and toy food to Carriage Town Ministries on December 3, 2016. It made me feel good to know it was going to the right place, and that some kids will enjoy it.
Blueberry Moment 7313
On December 8, 2016, we were in the very busy Burton Walmart, and decided to help the kind ladies that work in the clothing department. People always leave clothes messy and unfolded. The workers can’t keep up with it, so we decided to help them out. We picked up clothes off the floor, folded and hung them back up. We even straightened out several other displays. I gave a worker a card and told her to pass it along. It made me feel good to help make someone’s job a little easier.
Blueberry Moment 7310
My first Blueberry Moment was at the food bank in our school on October 26th. I was helping by carrying the food for the people, who chose to take the food. There were veggies, breads, and sweets. I felt good because I could help, I felt that what I did was important.

My third Blueberry Moment was at Fiedler on September 9th. When my whole class, was collecting plastic, because we wanted our school to be a clean, better place. It made me feel helpful because we were keeping our school and surroundings clean.
At the food give-away, I helped a woman pick out food and load it into her car. When we were all done loading her car up I said, “Since I helped you with your groceries I am going to give you my Blueberry Card” and then I told her all about the Blueberry Cards. Then the women said, “Oh wow that is cool! I well remember to give this away.” Then we went on with our day. I hope she’s giving the card away as we speak.
For my second Blueberry Card, I gave change to and little boy who was crying because he couldn’t play a game because his mother didn’t have any change. So, when I saw that little boy crying I felt so bad so I reached in my pocket and grabbed 50 cents and gave it to the little boy. As soon as I saw that change hit his hand and he sprayed up of joy and ran to the game. His mother said, “Thank you so, so much for giving my little boy some change. What do you say?” “Thank you girl,” the little boy said. That just made my day knowing that I made a little boy happy.
My final Blueberry Card was that I helped a family find their loved one in the nursing home. I was there to visit my Grandma.
For my first Blueberry Moment, I helped out with the food give-away which is a thing where Kearsley families can get free food. I helped bring food inside and get it ready so our Kearsley community families could have free food if they needed it. I helped three people find what they needed. It made me feel good to help someone in my community
For my second Blueberry Moment, I donated to the Kearsley families in need. Our school has different events each day for a week. You could participate if you pay a dollar for each event. My first Blueberry Moment was, when I was at my school and the Food Bank was delivering food for a thing we called the food drive. The food drive allows all different families in Kearsley district to come and get the food that they need with no price. What I did was I helped a woman get her supplies that she needed and asked what she was looking for and if she needed any help carrying it to the cart. I gave her a Blueberry Card before we went to go unload her things in her car. When I gave her the Blueberry Card I explained what it was. After that, I helped her push the cart to her car and unload her items into her car.
My second moment is when I was in class and we had to finish our word search. When I saw that someone was struggling, I went and pulled a stool over and asked, “Do you need help?” And he said, “Yes.” So, I helped while watching the movie too and we worked on it together. I gave him a Blueberry Card, explained what it was and we finished the word search then watched the movie.
My third moment was when I was at recess I heard that the lunch monitors were looking for Abigail. I helped look all over the playground and there was only one place we did not look which was the back of the playground. I was the only who ran all the way to the back and found Abigail in the back corner of the walking path. I told her that her mom was at the door waiting for her, so I walked all the way back with her and gave her mom a Blueberry Card for running all the way back there and also explained what it was.

My Blueberry Moment is that I donated almost all of my toys and clothes to Goodwill in my dad’s big blue truck. I even helped carry some of it into the Goodwill drop off. The whole time I was doing that I was thinking “I really hope they like the stuff.”
For my last Blueberry Moment was when I helped my mom do all the yard work such as raking the leaves and weeding the garden. All of the work was very fun. It was also a big workout because some of the weeding was really hard because a lot of them were stuck in the ground.

While I was helping, it made me smile thinking I helped out some people. I hope the people I helped out appreciated my help. I was glad to help. A lot of the people said, “Thank you.”
My second Blueberry Moment was to help kids that need help because they are very poor and some don’t get Christmas gifts. My mom and I got a box and choose the age 4 to 9 and filled a box full plus we added 7 extra dollars to pay for shipping. We felt bad for the girl who was going to get it so we filled the box to where it was over flowing. We don’t know who it was going to but I was glad to help out.
My third Blueberry Moment was when I did “ding dong ditched.” It’s where you go ring a doorbell and run and hide but I did it with a nice touch. I dropped gifts of at their front porch at night time so when they wake in the morning they find it. The gift was popcorn and you also get a free red box rental so you can watch a movie for free. My mom got some calls asking if we did it. I didn’t tell them. I am keeping it a secret so they won’t know because it’s not about giving, it’s about being kind and not about taking credit for it. I will eventually tell them. It made me feel good inside.

My second Blueberry Moment was at my Grandma’s house on Ridgelawn Road. She hurt her arms. After Thanksgiving lunch, I went over and my cousin and I got her tree out of her basement and decorated her tree. It felt good to help the elderly when needed.
My final Blueberry Moment was at my Grandma’s church. We do a program called socks and sandwiches. What we do is we put a PB&J sandwich in a big gallon bag with a water bottle, a pair of socks, a bag of chips, and a granola bar. We make about 100 of these. After it is all done someone takes them to the homeless. We do this once a month.

For my first random act of kindness is helping out after school in a food drive for Kearsley Schools parents and students. First we put the food on tables after it was delivered. Then I started helping by grabbing food, putting it in bags, and delivering to cars.

I went to the computer lab and there were a whole lot of little kids in there pressing buttons and slamming down on keyboards. I helped Mrs. Ratza with the little kids by calming them down and telling them to not do that. I also helped the kids get on their age appropriate games on the computers. This made me feel great.

My first random act of kindness was when I worked at the food drive at Fiedler Elementary on October 26, 2016. We helped unload the food trucks and placed the food items onto the tables. They donated bagged salad, potatoes, apples, carrots, pastries, and bread to families that needed food. We helped people find their goods and helped deliver the food to their cars. I like the golden rule, “Treat people the way you like to be treated.”
My second random act of kindness was when my girl scout troop and I donated our time at The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan on October 29, 2016. We sorted food and separated the Halloween candy. We made up goodie bags for children. I passed on my second Blueberry Card to another volunteer who was there working. I enjoyed working at the food bank because the food bank helps feed the hungry. Nobody should ever have to go without food. I am happy that there are programs that help people that are in need. My girl scout troop plan to volunteering once a month.
My third random act of kindness was when my grandma and I began sewing quilts for The Women and Children shelter of Flint on November 18, 2016. My church is donating 27 quilts to the homeless women and children that are living in the shelter. I enjoy sewing, it’s one of my hobbies. I love that my sewing can help people stay warm. I passed on my third Blueberry Card to Rebecca, she is the lady that organized our quilting project. She is a member of our church and works in the Sunday school classroom. Making these quilts made me feel grateful to have a home and warm blankets to snuggle. It makes me happy to know that I am helping families that don’t have a home.
On Thursday November 17, a woman only had a card with her. I had 9 dollar bills. Her son asked if he could have a bag of chips. His mom said, “No.” But I asked his mom if I could give him some of my money to get a snack and she said, “Yes.” When I asked him what he wanted, he was so happy he gave me a hug. When he hugged me, I felt so good. When my sister came out of class I told her what I did and she was so proud of me!
On Tuesday November 29, I had two coats that were too small for me so my mom and I thought about giving them to Volunteers of America. My mom thought that two more kids could get to be warm this winter. I put my Blueberry Card in the pocket so when the boy gets it when he puts his hands in his pocket he will feel it, and hopefully do a random act of kindness also!

She thanked me when she left. I was happy I helped her. It felt good.
My second Blueberry Moment was when I helped a student in my class on math. I didn’t give them the answers but I gave him ideas about how to solve the problems. I gave him strategies to help him solve the problems. After a little time, he got it and I let him try the next problem on his own. He got it. I reminded him about the strategies and he did excellent on the paper we did the next day. He told me, “Thank you. I think I get it now.” I was happy he got how to do the math.
My last Blueberry Moment was when my teacher told the class to get with your partner and read each other’s papers together and grade them. My partner went first. I read his paper out loud to him and then we looked at the checklist. He was missing some things on the lead. He just said, “Oh, I got all of them wrong. Just give me a one on this paper.” I looked at him and said, “No, no, no. It’s okay. You did not get all the answers wrong. Come on and we can fix this.” We got something good that I think he liked for his lead. Next I let him look over my paper. I think he had fun. I thanked him for checking my paper. He went back to his seat and put the work that we made into his paper. I was happy that I helped him.
