Blueberry Moment 15996
This weekend we celebrated Easter with my mom and step-dad, my grandma, grandpa, cousins, aunt, and my great grandma. My great grandma has been very sad since my great grandpa died a couple of months ago and I wanted to do something to cheer her up a little bit. My mom said we should make her a craft and get her some of her favorite flowers. I let my mom trace my hand to make the Easter craft for my great grandma. When we got to my grandma’s, I surprised my great grandma by giving her some yellow roses and the craft we made. She was surprised and happy! She gave me a hug and said thank you. She smiled a little. This made me feel good!

During one weekend at my dad’s in Illinois, I was able to help greet people at church. To greet people, I shook their hand and said hello. I decided to do this because it makes me feel happy and I wanted to make others feel happy too. The lady smiled when I shook her hand and said hello back and seemed happy. Greeting others at church made me giddy and feel like I wanted to dance! I want to do it more often!
My mom is often sad and misses my great grandpa who died a few months ago. One night when we were at our house before going to bed, when she was sad, I decided to do a happy dance to cheer her up and boy did she laugh! I was feeling so silly and excited and just wanted to make mom smile! I’m trying to do more silly things when mom is sad to make her feel better because it also makes me feel happy and good inside.
One weekend while I was at my dad’s house in Illinois, I decided to go with my dad to Dunkin Doughnuts and buy my grandma one of her favorite cups of coffee. After we bought the coffee, we went to my grandma’s house so I could give her the coffee and the card I made. I made her a card for her birthday so I could wish her a Happy Birthday and make her feel happy! I decided to do this so she could have a good birthday and be happy!
After I gave my grandma her coffee and card, she hugged me, kissed me, and said thank you and I love you! She smiled and was very happy! Doing this stuff for my grandma and making her birthday special made me feel great inside. I smiled!

I shoveled my neighbor’s driveway. I decided to do it because they are older and need help with some things. She was very thankful. Mrs. Kathy fell and hurt her arm and could not do it and Mr. Charlie is in a wheelchair. I thought it was no problem and I was happy to help.

When my Papa found out that I shoveled the neighbor’s driveway for my first Blueberry Moment, he said he was proud of me and gave me four dollars to use to play games at the Bowling Alley. My brother had spent all his game money that day trying to win a sleepy dinosaur stuffed animal out of the claw machine. He was sad because he didn’t win. I decided to use the money that my papa gave me to try to win it for him. I won the dinosaur that my brother was trying to get and gave it to him. I had some money left so I kept trying and I won a teddy bear and gave it to my little sister. My brother and sister were so happy! It made me feel good that I could give my brother something that he wanted and had enough left to get something for my sister too.

When my mom told me that one of her friend’s best friend passed away, I felt sad for her and wanted to get her a present to help make her feel better. For my third Blueberry Moment, I decided to give her a painting and a card. She felt very happy and really liked the painting that I gave her. She read the Blueberry Card that I gave her and said that she would definitely continue the chain and pay it forward. I was thankful that I could do something to make her happy.
Every year at Christmas time, our family adopts a family from the Shelter of Flint. I help my mom shop for, wrap and deliver clothes and toys for a family in need. It made me very sad to hear that there were families who did not have a place to live, clothes that fit them, or money to buy presents. It makes me feel happy that our family can give a Christmas to another family. I really appreciate all the things that I have and my family and I talk about how not to take that for granted.
Every year in February, my sister and I make homemade Valentines for the residents at Swank Nursing Home. I try to make each card different and funny, because a lot of the people in the nursing home are sick or lonely. We also give them a little bag of candy, because they like sweets too! It makes me feel good to see the people smile when we deliver their cards.
My mom gets a coffee from Starbucks every morning on our way to school. Sometimes we pay for the person’s order behind us. We asked the lady at the window to give them the Blueberry Card and she said, “That is so cool!” I asked my mom to drive away slowly and the person honked and waved when they found out their order was free. I remember how surprised my mom was when someone did that for her. It felt good to brighten someone’s day.
My first Blueberry Moment was when I shoveled most of my neighbors’ driveways. Why I did it because all my neighbors are busy and not shoveling their driveway. I did not want them to get hurt so I went around and shoveled their driveways.
My second Blueberry Moment was when I helped my mom bake cookies. When I saw my neighbor John’s car in the driveway, I knew he was home from work and I decided to deliver the cookies to him. I went out in the cold and delivered the cookies and snuck in a Blueberry Card.
My last Blueberry Moment was with my sister who is in the eighth grade. She was studying for a big test and I saw she was struggling. I asked if she wanted help. She told me what she needed me to do and we studied for her test together.

I was with my mom waiting for my brother Samuel to get off the school bus. It was snowing really hard and I decided to wipe the snow off the car so my mom could see. Helping my mom clean the car off made me very happy.
Blueberry Moment 15028
On Sundays, my family goes over to my grandma and grandpa’s house for lunch. I helped my grandma in the kitchen making macaroni and cheese. By helping my grandma cooking in the kitchen, it made me feel great.
Blueberry Moment 13729
On Sunday, I was at my grandparent’s house for lunch. After lunch, my great uncle
Craig, needed help with his laundry so I took a basket out to his car for him. Helping him with his laundry basket made me feel excited.
My first random act of kindness, I helped an elderly lady load her groceries in her vehicle. I was with my mom and we were at Kroger. It made me feel happy because I helped someone.
For my second random act of kindness, I was with my mom and brother at the doctor. There was a boy who was acting out. I helped calm him down by talking and playing with him. It made me feel good to know that I was the one who helped calm him down.
For my final random act of kindness, I was at Kroger with my mom. I picked up trash along side the parking lot. It made me feel good to know that I was helping the environment along with helping clean up our community.
I did this to someone I didn’t know at the store. What I did was a big help. I noticed their hands were full with bags, so I simply opened the door for them. This I know is random but that is still something special and I’m glad I did it. It made me feel great, so yes even though it was just something simple it made me feel good on the inside, a warm feeling.
My second Blueberry Card was also in a store. I helped an adult carry their groceries. The adult of course was not dangerous and my mom was around to make sure I was ok and safe. When I helped the adult, my head was racing thoughts that he might say, “I don’t need help, or Thank You,” in a bad way. But I did it anyway, and it turns out the adult was very kind and thankful that I helped them and that was good enough for me myself and I.
My final Blueberry Card was simple but still a random act of kindness. I was in my house, waiting to call mom when I saw my grandma struggling to finish folding the clothes in the basket. My grandma told me I didn’t have to help if I didn’t want to, but I decided to do what is the best for her not my time. I walked up to her and I started folding clothes. We ended up finishing the basket, after I did so my heart felt warm and I was in the happiest mood ever. Still, the fact I helped my family member doesn’t mean it’s not random.
My first Blueberry Moment was when I helped a boy pick up his stuff because he dropped it all over the floor. It was a mess.
Another Blueberry Moment was when I helped base for another cheer team. It wasn’t my team, but I wanted to help because they had a girl that was absent.
My third Blueberry Moment was when I help my brother Jackson with his homework.
My last Blueberry Moment was when I helped Delaney up. She slid on the ice and got snow all over her.

When I was at school, a classmate did not have money for popcorn day. I shared and gave him a bag of my popcorn. It felt good to give to someone that would have been left out.
Blueberry Moment 15081
When I was at school, getting my hearing tested, the other half of my class walked in when I finished. I held the door open for them and that made me feel helpful.
Blueberry Moment 15082
A classmate didn’t have a snack and needed one. My mom always sends extra food with me so I asked him if he would like any of my snack to share and that made me
feel good that I could help someone out.

One of my first Blueberry Moments I did was give a couple of different books to Mr. Billing for his classroom. I felt like it was a way I could thank him for letting me borrow his books and letting me take them home.
My second Blueberry Moment was when we got rid of my dog Bowser. We had a bunch of dog toys that were almost new. Coincidently my neighbor got a new dog and we gave him the toys so he wouldn’t have to spend a lot of money on a baby dog. I feel like we did something very nice.
My last Blueberry Moment was that my family couldn’t afford a big party for my little sister like she wanted. I helped plan a party (not as big) for her so she wouldn’t be disappointed or fell like we forgot about her.
I was out for desert with my mom at Big Boy restaurant. Across from us there was a police officer in uniform eating dinner. I walked up to him and said ”Thank you for your service” and I shook his hand. My mom even took a picture of us giving the camera a thumbs up. This act of kindness made me feel very happy and appreciative for our police officers.
One night, I was out to eat at McDonalds, and one of the workers dropped off a milkshake to me that someone had bought me without me knowing. Then I noticed a little boy about my age out to eat with his dad. The thought came to me of paying the favor forward to someone else. So, my mom and I went to the counter and ordered the little boy a milkshake. I remembered the happy feeling I felt when I received my surprise, and I hoped the little boy would get the same feeling. This random act of kindness made me feel like the world is getting better one act of kindness at a time.
My third act of kindness took place at school. It all started one day at lunch when I noticed one of my classmates and what she was packed for her cold lunch. I know how much I love a nutritious lunch, and it made me feel sad when I saw she only had cookies and carrots. That night I decided to bring an extra lunch for the following day. The next day at school I brought her a lunch. Just doing that small act of kindness made me feel like a compassionate person.
I was at my grandma’s one weekend with my grandpa, sister and cousin. She was sick! We decided we would stay there and help her out. We helped her get out of bed, eat her food, and we were always by her side. I did not really want to stay, but on the inside, I decided it was the best thing to do.
I was watching television, and my mom was doing the dishes. I decided that she does the dishes all the time and I was going to do them today. Parents do a lot for us, so I let my mom rest. While I was doing the dishes, I got all wet, but it was worth it. It made me feel proud inside for what I did. I did it because it was the right thing to do.
Summer was ending and it was starting to get cold outside. My dad had to put all the stuff in the shed. I was going outside to play with my friends. We all saw my dad carrying a bike to the shed. I asked my two friends if they would go over there with me and help my dad. They said yes. We head over there. We carried all the things to the shed. After the shed was full and yard picked up, we went to play. That made me feel like I had some very good friends who were willing to help me. I made that decision because it was the right thing to do.
My first Blueberry Moment I gave my snack away to a friend because they did not have a snack. I had extra and thought since I have an extra, why don’t I give one of my snacks away to be nice. That is what I did.
My second Blueberry Moment is when I went caroling with my mom, sister and friends. We rang the doorbell and began singing. When the family came to the door, not only were we singing, we gave them a give them a gift bag.
My last Blueberry Moment was when a couple of friends helped me. We went another friend’s house and gave her a present for Christmas to be nice.I felt good when I did this stuff because it made me feel happy what I did for others and it made me happy that they were happy.
My first Blueberry Moment is when my dad left all his papers on the table while he was pulling out of the driveway going to work. I ran out of the house and made him stop so I could give them to him.
My second Blueberry Moment was when my friend Abby fell outside and she got all muddy. I helped her clean up in the bathroom while she went back to class. I also did a favor for her by putting her coat in her locker and helping her up outside.
My last Blueberry Moment is that my neighbor dropped his papers on the ground outside. When I was riding my bike, I went to go help him and he had a big smile after I gave a random act of kindness card to him.
My first moment was when I shoveled my neighbor’s driveway, porch, and sidewalk. I walked to her house and asked if she needed help. She said, “Can you shovel my porch?” I ended up shoveling the driveway, sidewalk, and porch.
My second moment is when I helped my neighbor bring in groceries. I brought them up the stairs into the house. When I was done, I felt really good
My final Blueberry Moment was when I donated two stuffed animals to the kindergarteners and I feel really good about it.
