BLUEBERRY AMBASSADOR MOMENTS
Swartz Creek Middle School, coordinators Alicia Clayton, Lorraine Ahearne & Stacey Guigear
For my first Blueberry Moment, I decided to buy someone who I sit with at lunch a couple of snacks. She had nothing to eat for lunch so I went and got a Rice Krispy treat and chips for her to eat. It was really great to see the look on her face when I gave it to her because it made me sad when she was just watching all of us eat when she had nothing.
For my second Blueberry Moment, I gave someone money for their food at McDonald’s because he didn’t have enough for what he wanted. I felt bad so my mom let me give him four dollars. The look on his face when I gave it to him made me smile. I was happy I got to help him because he could’ve been starving and with no way to get that extra money.
For my last Blueberry Moment, I helped someone open a jammed locker so they could get to class on time. It made me feel good because then they wouldn’t have to get a tardy over something they are not in control over. I hope that this situation never happens to someone where they have to be late because of this.
For my first Blueberry Moment, I decided to do a small act of kindness for a classmate in my fourth hour science class. While in class, across my table I saw my classmate struggling to find a pencil then struggling to sharpen her pencil that broke. I just got a new pack of sharpened pencils and just got my Blueberry Cards. I met my classmate and introduced myself and I also noticed how I created a new friend. After we talked, I grabbed a sharpened pencil and a Blueberry Card and gave one to my new friend Kennedy. She thanked me and told my teacher my act of kindness.
For my second Blueberry Moment, I wanted to help someone in a bigger way. One of my friends couldn’t pay for any snack at the salad bar nor buy a lunch from the lunch line. She also rushed out of her house that day and didn’t get the opportunity to grab a snack or eat breakfast. I asked her if she enjoyed school pizza and she said she did. I quickly walked to the lunch line and bought a pizza with milk. I went to the table she was at and handed my friend the lunch tray with food and a Blueberry Card. She was full and thanked me and my mom for lunch.
For my third Blueberry Moment, I got help from my aunt. My aunt told me how she saw a woman she knew and how her husband had passed away. We were at Leo’s Coney Island and I asked my aunt if we could pay her bill secretly and have the waitress give her the Blueberry Card. Me and my aunt chipped in and talked to our waitress to find out who was the woman’s waitress. We talked to the woman’s waitress and paid for the whole bill and the waitress gave the Blueberry Card to the woman. When me and my aunt saw the woman’s face it made us happy and we could tell she was very appreciative to whoever she thought paid her bill.
One day I was at lunch and my friend was upset and told me during fifth hour. So, I was originally going to give a post it note that had positive things on it to Abigail. When I heard that Ava was sad and upset, I crossed Abigail’s name out (not to be mean) and put Ava’s name on it. At the end of science, I wrapped the post it note on the card and gave it to her. I felt really nice when I did this because I love to make people happy. I think Ava was really happy when I gave her the post it note because she loves hearing good things about her.
One day at lunch, there were these boys I know sitting behind me and Ava. So, the boys were messing around and spilled milk on Ava’s back. So, we went to a different table and I said to her, “I will help you get the milk on your back” and she said “ok.” So Mrs. Dikos excused us, and we went to the bathroom and cleaned up her back. I felt really kind and nice because I wouldn’t want milk stains on my back and I didn’t want any on Ava’s. I think Ava felt really happy that I used my own time to help her.
One day, Jayden’s stuff fell out of her locker and I helped her because she was about to be late for class so I helped her. I think Jayden felt really nice and I also felt really nice as well because I like helping people.
Blueberry Moment 7400
For my first Blueberry Moment, I decided to pay for a stranger’s order in the drive thru. After me and my mom ordered our food, we told the drive thru employee that we wanted to pay for the next person’s order. I looked behind us and the woman in the car was on the phone in tears. We pulled up to the window, and right before my mom drove away, we heard the car behind us beep at us. The woman was waving at us through her window and she started yelling out, “Thank you so much, I really needed that today!” We drove away and I had a big smile on my face, knowing I made that woman’s day a lot better.
For my second Blueberry Moment, I anonymously wrote my advanced math teacher a letter. She was having a stressful day because her students were being rude and disrespectful all day. I could tell that she was upset. So, in my sixth hour I wrote her a letter about how much I respect her and about how amazing she is for being a teacher. When the bell rang, I taped the letter, with the Blueberry Card inside, on her door without her seeing me do it. I hope when she finds the letter it makes her smile and helps her understand that she is awesome.
Blueberry Moment 7401
For my final Blueberry Moment, I decided to bake cookies for all of my teachers. On each bag I wrote, “You’re so appreciated,” and connected a Blueberry Card to one of the bags. I left the cookies in my teacher’s mailboxes and I hope that when they find them, they enjoy the cookies and feel appreciated!
Blueberry Moment 7474
For my first act of kindness, I made appreciation cards for the bus drivers for everything they do. My bus driver, Mrs. Cheryl, was having a bad day and she looked upset so I went home and started making a card for her then I decided to make appreciation cards for the other bus drivers so they can feel good too. The next day after the bus drivers got the cards, I walked onto the bus and Mrs. Cheryl said “̈Thank you for the card. I really appreciate it.” It made me feel like a good person and that I appreciate people.
Blueberry Moment 7453
In the December of 2019, my friend named Ashley lost her grandpa. I decided that I would pay it forward and do a random act of kindness because my friends did the same to me. My mom and I drove to the dollar store and picked up many things to put into a care package for Ashley. We bought things such as chocolate, lotion, Christmas cookies, and more. When I dropped this off to my friend, I felt like I had really made a difference in both of our days. Overall, I am very proud of the action I did to make Ashley smile.
Blueberry Moment 7452
My sister and I were playing in the snow on our first snow day of the year, Whoosh. I heard a big gush of wind blow past me, along with a brilliant idea. I quickly ran to the garage and picked up a shovel. Then, I went to my next-door neighbor’s house and shoveled her driveway with a beaming smile on my face. I felt very cold and proud of myself for what I did for my neighbor. Overall, I am happy about my actions and hope I can continue to do this in the future.
Blueberry Moment 7454
“Mom! Am I having a cold lunch?” I asked my mom on an early January morning. “It doesn’t matter,” she responded. So, I walked to the kitchen thinking about the day ahead of me. I had a great idea to get my last Blueberry Moment finished. I got out my mom’s lunchbox for work and packed a variety of different snacks for her day. I am happy I did this because it made me feel like I took some weight off of her shoulders. I know this made her feel relieved, because she was already running late.
Blueberry Moment 7410
My math teacher was having a very bad day, so I decided to write a nice note to her. When I gave it to her, she was shaking and it was clear that she had been crying. It made me feel bad for her and I could tell I made her day just a little better.
Blueberry Moment 7411
When it was snowy outside, me and my dad went to shovel our driveway. We have elderly neighbors that have back problems, so we decided to shovel their driveway for them. They came out and offered us 30 dollars, but we politely declined. After we were done, I walked back to my house and got my Blueberry Card and gave it to them. Their faces once it was done, were unforgettable. It made me feel so good.
One day after school, I went to my mom’s work which is a church. As we were getting ready to leave, a homeless man walked in. He said that his friend that he lived with had kicked him out and needs $25.00 to pay the rent for one week to get him on his feet. My mom and friend were at the front desk talking to him, so I walked back to my mom’s snack drawer and grabbed all the good snacks I could find and gave it to him. My mom walked back and gave him the $25.00. He had proved to us that he was not going to use it badly and even cried. After that we prayed, and he said thank you more times than I could count. I knew that we did something good that day and I will never forget it.
One night, we were walking out of Taco Bell and I held the door for a lady and her son. I let her get in her car first and she said, “thank you”, and I said, “you are welcome,” and gave her the Blueberry Card. It made me feel good and amazing and she smiled looked really happy
I saw someone pick some trash on the ground in school and I gave her the Blueberry Card. I felt really good and she had a nice smile on her face. After I gave her the Blueberry Card, I felt really good and was happy that I made her smile.
The bus driver was having a rough day so the next day I gave him one of my cookies and the card. He looked really happy and I felt happy. He looked a lot happier that day.
Blueberry Moment 7467
For my first act of kindness, I wrote get well cards to 131 women that are fighting breast cancer. This is my fourth year of writing words of encouragement to these courageous women. I enjoy doing this because it brings joy to these women and it makes me happy that I can make them happy.
Blueberry Moment 7466
For my second act of kindness, I took cookies to the 911 Dispatchers. They do so much for us, I thought it would be nice if I did something for them. Since their job is truly thankless.
Blueberry Moment 7468
For my third and final Blueberry Moment I went and volunteered to help set up an adoption day for PAWS and got to play with the dogs and cats. Also, I donated blankets to the animals. It makes me feel good because I’m an animal lover and those poor animals deserve a good home but for the time being, I will try and help anyway I can.
Blueberry Moment 7408
I decided for my first Blueberry Moment I should write a letter to the janitors to show that I appreciate them. And that’s exactly what I did. “Give her the letter now,” my friend urged. I walked over to the janitor that I see every day working so hard. Her name is Miss Devyn. “This is for you,” I said holding out the letter. “This is for me?” she asked. She read over the letter, looked up at me and smiled. It was a really big smile that I’ve never seen on her face before. I felt really good it made my heart swell up. I smiled back. She gave me a big hug. “Thank You!” she said. “You’re welcome!” I said, still smiling. She walked away. I sat back down with my friends and continued eating. I really did feel good. A couple minutes later, Miss Devyn came back. She handed me a Target Ticket (a card you get when you are caught being good, it gets put in a drawing) “This is for the letter,” said Miss Devyn, “Thank you!” She said again. “You’re welcome!” She was still smiling.
Blueberry Moment 7408
For my second Blueberry Moment, me and my friend Savannah decided to take care of our best friend. “Teairra let’s give Lexi a surprise,” Savannah said. Lexi was very sick and couldn’t come to school. “What should we do?” I asked. She replied, “Lets make her a gift basket.” “Ok, let’s do it” I said excitedly. For the next couple classes in my free time, I made Lexi a card telling her that we missed her and we hoped she felt better. Savannah bought her snacks and a fluffy stuffed animal. I wasn’t able to bring it to Lexi, but I got a video and a photo. When she was back at school, Lexi gave me a hug and said thank you! I could tell she was truly happy and grateful for the gift. It made me very happy.
Blueberry Moment 4046
Me and my family were on our way to church. I was excited because for my third and final Blueberry Moment. I wanted to give food to a homeless man that me and my family see almost every Sunday. The night before we bought many snacks like goldfish, fruits, juices, and chips. As we pulled up to the corner where the man was, I felt sad but happy at the same time. My mom rolled down the window. “Hello sir, my daughter was thinking about it and she wanted to get you some food,” she said in a sweet voice. She handed him the bag of food and $10 dollars. “Here. Go buy some hot food.” “Thank you!” He said happily. I was smiling ear to ear. I handed him the Blueberry Card. He looked confused at first but when he turned around, I could tell he was reading the card. Before we pulled away my mom asked “Sir, what’s your name?” He turned around and said, “Herman.” My mom smiled and said, “Have a good day, Herman.” He smiled and said, “God bless you!”
One day, I was at one of my Mom’s work parties, at Rehabitat Systems. I was enjoying an ice cold lemonade, when I noticed one of the clients struggling to fit through the doorway. I rushed over to help them and realized the reason it was hard for the client to get in, was that the wheelchair he was in was stuck in the door. I calmly told the client to go back. As they did, I opened the door wider, and the wheelchair was free. The client drove the wheelchair through the doorway and said his thank you. I replied with, “you’re welcome!” and ran back to my mom’s office. My mom asked what I have been doing, and I simply smiled, and spoke the truth. I had helped a client.

Blueberry Moment 7444
A few days ago, my bus driver was yelled at by a mean and disrespectful eighth grader because the bus driver wouldn’t do something about somebody throwing something at the eighth grader. The eighth grader called the bus driver a bad word and a bunch of other bad words. The eighth grader also told the bus driver to either quit or retire! And when I got off of the bus and started to walk home, I started to actually feel bad for the bus driver. When I got home, I called my mom like I usually do, I told her about what had happened and I asked her what I could do to make my bus driver feel better. I decided that I was going to make her a card and get a bag of chocolates. When I was done with the gift, I also added a Blueberry Card. When I gave her the card, her face lit up and she said, “Thank you so much!” This time, when I got off of the bus and started to walk home, I felt a warm and good feeling, it felt a bit like I just had some fresh hot cocoa. Then I knew that I did the right thing.
Blueberry Moment 7443
My brother handed me the mail and I sifted through it to stumble onto a St. Jude’s Research Hospital letter asking for a donation. It also came with a picture of a girl with Leukemia that melted my heart. Thankfully, it also came with a donation slip that gave you the choice of $5, $10, $25, $50, and up. I thought $50 was too much and that $10 was too little, so I chose $25. When I was about to seal up the envelope, I quickly scrambled upstairs to grab a Blueberry Card and tucked it into the envelope. When we put it in the mail, I hoped that my donation would make a difference. Yet, I knew that it did.
Blueberry Moment 7442
My friend dyed her hair tips a bright orange and people were making fun of her when she asked for their opinion. I had brought some Jolly Ranchers to hold me over during the day. I just really felt really bad for her. So, I gave her my last Jolly Rancher along with a Blueberry Card hoping that she would feel better because of it. I gave her the Jolly Rancher hoping that something sweet would make her feel better. When I gave the card and candy to her, she said that she had always wanted to get involved with the Blueberries but when she asked her mom if she could join, her mom had said no. When I was walking to my next hour, I looked over to my right to see my friend looking much happier than before, that is when I realized that I had done the right thing.
Blueberry Moment 7422
Today, I went to Biggby Coffee and decided to pay for a lady’s drink who was waiting behind us in line. I did this because I wanted to make someone’s day brighter. The lady reacted with a huge smile on her face and even the man behind the counter said, “what a nice thing to do!” The experience I had was wonderful because putting a smile on someone’s face makes me feel really good inside.
Blueberry Moment 7423
Today for my third act of kindness, I gave $20 to the outstanding lunch balance at Morrish Elementary. This made me feel good because a lot of people don’t have enough money to pay for their lunch.
Blueberry Moment 7473
Today, I donated three bags of toys, clothes and crafts to the Foster Closet of Michigan. The lady that accepted the donations said if they can’t be used there, they will pass them along to other places that can. It made me feel good because unfortunately there are kids that are put in tough situations and maybe the items I donated can help them through these times.
I bought and wrapped presents for a 16 year old with a disorder who lives in a foster home. I can’t take all of the credit though. I would have to share the credit with my fellow girl scout friends too because they helped. It’s really fun helping people or making people happy. I could tell the 16 year old girl would be very happy with what we did for her and would be very surprised. It’s so surprising what little you do but how happy people get.
I was very excited with this random act of kindness that I did. I put sticky notes on all of the teachers in the sixth grade hall. I wrote nice things like, “thanks so much for helping me,” “thank you for all you do,” “You are so nice,” etc. I wanted to do that because a lot of students don’t respect teachers and some teachers get really hurt from all disrespect, they get so I decided to cheer them up with just a small note but with a big message.
My best friend’s Papa died not too long ago, and I felt really bad for her. She didn’t come to school for a long time so on one of the days she wasn’t there I decided to go out and get a teddy bear, a huge pack of Reece’s (she loves Reece’s) and a card. I also snuck a Blueberry Card in there. To be honest I thought that was the greatest blueberry action I did because I could feel the joy when she opened her locker.
My first random act of kindness I went to a nursing home during Christmas Eve and gave the women a beautiful bracelet and I gave the boys a delicious candy canes. I also gave kind cards to everyone and they were VERY joyful and I was too I did this because they just have to sit on a couch or lay in bed all day and I wanted to entertain them
Me and my sister went to my cousins first grade class and we gave them a bunch of box tops because they needed money for their class. I did this because I knew that they needed money and if they didn’t get the money then they would not be able to go on the field trip that they wanted to go to and that would make them upset. They had just enough money to go and they were very happy and so was I.
Me and my friends walked to a neighborhood near us and we gave them cards and they were all very happy and I was too. I did this because I know some of them are having a bad time in their life and I did this to make them feel better so their bad time wouldn’t be so horrible.
Blueberry Moment 7475
One day I was math class and I noticed that my teacher, Mr.Hockin organized the bellworks in numbered order so one day I started doing the same thing so every day I would number them in order then one day there was a big stack of papers that were all mixed together so I organized them it took me almost my whole hour now I do it every day. The moment he found the card he smiled the rest of the day.
The minute I saw the Walmart sign, I could feel my heart pumping faster and faster. In school we were working on an amazing program called the giving tree. We would bring in money or supplies for the kids at school who might not have very much. So, me and my mom decided to go to the store and get some supplies to help with the program. I knew we had three people to help out for our class, so I got three shampoos and conditioners, three deodorants, and three body washes. Even though maybe they weren’t the best kind they would work just as well, and they all smelled really good. I can’t wait to do something like that and get the same feeling again. It was the best feeling.
Blueberry Moment 7477
In my dance class, there was a girl named Bella who wanted help with the steps so I went to her house to help her and she was really fun to hang out with. I went over there again the next week and every week I would go there and help her. She thanked me every time and was so glad that our dance teacher said that she was getting so much better. When I gave her the Blueberry Card, she said that she would most definitely pass it on.
Blueberry Moment 7481
My first random act of kindness was at Meijer. I went to the bottle return room and it was a mess, so I cleaned it up. I threw away the trash and I wiped up the soda off of the ground and took care of the carts. Another thing I did was help other people to return their bottles. It made me feel happy and after I did it, they smiled at me, so I guess it probably made them feel good too.
Blueberry Moment 7405
Another random act of kindness at school. I felt bad for my teacher, Mrs. Brownfield’ because her room was a mess from the class so I asked her if I could pick it up and she said yes. I threw away the paper and wiped the tables down and the last thing I did was find things and put them in the lost and found. It made me happy that the classroom was clean and that I helped her, and she gave me a target ticket which I was really happy about.
The last random act of kindness that did was that I was helping someone clean up her stuff when she dropped it on the ground. When everyone was laughing at her I told them to stop and I told her everything was ok she smiled and she acted like there was nothing wrong. I was really proud of myself because nobody else helped her and I don’t even know her.
For this moment, I went at 6:30 in the morning to Donna’s Donuts and bought two dozen random donuts! Me and my mom also got a box of coffee. Once we finished, we headed to my Dads job at GM and gave them the boxes of donuts and coffee we just bought. They were so happy and delighted to have the donuts. Once my dad arrived home from work, he said everyone who went into the break room loved that they had a little snack! We went to Biggy’s and got another box of coffee and headed to the Genesee Police Department and gave them the one dozen donuts and the Biggby’s box of coffee. They asked me why I did that, and I said I was doing a Blueberry Moment and thought because I want to be a cop when I’m older, I would like to see a smile on an officer who serves, and keeps us safe.
For this moment, I went to Meijer and bought tons of cat and dog stuff. By doing this, I was thinking of going to the Humane Society and giving the supplies to the animals! When we arrived, we looked and there was like no one there then this car stopped to talk to us, and we said what we were doing and she said that she was an employee and that they were closed. That upset me but I still got to see the enjoyment on at least one employee’s face and I’m sure everyone else was thankful as well!
Blueberry Moment 7448
For one of my acts of kindness, I went to see my grandma who just had knee surgery and did not have much company. Also, while I was there I helped my grandpa fix something on a tractor that he was working on. The smile on their faces made me feel good inside.
Blueberry Moment 7447
For another one of my acts, I made cookies for the police officers and I went to deliver them. I also wrote them a note. The smile on their faces makes me feel good. They told me that I was the first person to ever bring them cookies.
Blueberry Moment 7449
For my last act, me and my mom went to Meijer and left pennies on the horse and quarters in the candy dispensers. It makes me feel good that next time a kid wants to ride the horse or wants candy they can.
One night after school, I put a bunch of blue sticky notes saying kind things like, ‘you matter,’ ‘you are awesome,’ ‘have a good day,’ and etc. I put these sticky notes all over everyone’s lockers down my hallway. I am very proud of this act. It took a lot of time and effort. I don’t know exactly who I gave my Blueberry Card to, but I put it in someone’s locker when I was done and then I went home. I hope that my act made someone’s day.
One time my friend didn’t have any lunch money and I felt bad for her so when lunch time came around, I decided to buy her lunch for her and then I gave her my Blueberry Card. She was really grateful, and I was happy to see my friend like that.
I was at the dollar store with my mom to get a few things and like normal. I held the door open for my mom and then I saw a group of people coming towards the door. They were kind of far away, but I still held the door open for them. I was happy to hear them say thank you and when the group came to the end this nice old lady nicely handed me a quarter, so I slid her a Blueberry Card.
Blueberry Moment 7480
For one of my cards, I went to Mari Dan Apartments and I went to the seniors. I gave out cards to all of them and I had a friend there pick two other people so I could give them all baskets full of stuff to clean their house. It made me feel like a superhero. The smile on all of their faces just made me happy. I think it made them happy because some of the seniors do not have anybody so I wanted to change that.
